I'm on my way to Kacey's home, she and her family have invited me to stay. If I'm honest with you, I'm a little nervous. I hope it goes much better than it did at my parents house. At least I know they have no issues with me seeing her, as long as I treat her right which is what I intend to do. She deserves the best of me. She has already taught me so much in many different ways. It's amazing to feel loved, love me for me, not because I'm a professional footballer, and to feel like a king because of her. I don't regret anything when it comes to her, only that I wish I had told her sooner in how I truly felt about her but it has worked out perfectly.
I notice the supermarket sign ahead of me and a sudden idea pops into my head. I drive into the carpark. I put my sunglasses on and my cap before heading in-store. Fifteen minutes, I'm pulling up kerbside to Kacey's house. I put my glasses into my bag and make my way to her front door. The door opens before I even get chance to knock and I'm greeted by a smiley Kacey. Her eyes widen when she sees my little surprise."Thank you Jake, those are beautiful! This little teddy is really cute too. Come on inside!"
Kacey is leading me to her room so that I can put down my belongings but we're stopped by her Mum who shouts hello from the kitchen. I wave and shout hi to her. Then I follow Kacey.
"I'm sorry it's small but I hope it's okay for you."
I saunter over to where she's now sitting and kneel down to be eye level with her. I tuck a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. God, it feels like I'm home with her.
"I've missed you so much sweetheart. Your room is cute and cosy. It's very you and I love it. My room was small too at my parents so be fretting, okay? All I care about is being with you."
She leans in to wrap her arms around me and I gently place my lips upon hers. We lose ourselves amongst each other. Eventually when we hear footsteps coming closer, we pull apart and I take off my jacket. Kacey's mum appears at her bedroom door and asks if I would like a drink or something.
"Thank you, that would be nice. Is there anything I can do to help?"
She smiles and tells me to come through to the kitchen when I'm ready. I glance between her and Kacey, I can really see how much alike they are except her mum has dark brown eyes whereas Kacey's are a hazel colour.
"What are you thinking about Jake? You look like you're lost in your own world somewhere."
It takes me a minute to realise that Kacey has spoken to me and I turn to face her. I tell her what I was thinking about.
"I felt really welcome at your parents house, Jake, I probably feel more nervous about having you staying here where my parents are. I know they upset you but they really were just looking out for you, it's something I used to fret about until I met you and got to know you like I have."
