THE ENCOUNTER
ACE's POV // Present.
Ace was stood outside the exit of the airport, waiting for her ride to fetch her. She just got back from her 2 day weekend trip in Palawan and she feels so tired and exhausted and all she wants is to get home and get some sleep. Planning to skip her Monday class, again.
It was already past 11 in the morning, yet the sun was still burning hot against her skin. She pulled down the sleeves of her polo and moves to a much shaded part of the waiting area to avoid getting hit by the sun's heat. As she was waiting for her car to arrive - which should already be here by now, if she's being honest- Ace scanned the whole waiting area, eyeing every passengers that are sitting, while their face are either on their gadgets, or on the newspaper and others that are plainly waiting on the lounge just like her, and the ones that are already leaving the place.
While Ace was busy scanning the whole crowd, she got bumped into another person. As she turned to look at the culprit, she was met by a head of curls hung low and is seated by the airport's cemented floor
"Aww that hurts, fuck" the curly headed gal uttered, caressing her bum, as she falls arse first in the ground. She then raised her head to look up at the person she got bumped into.
Blue eyes met green as soon as she looked up. Ace was already staring down at her, eyes locked into the other. Something about the other gal's eyes that seems so endearing that makes it so hard to look away
The curly gal's eyes widens, revealing a lighter shade of blue, cheeks painted pinkish and mouth gasp open as she stared up at the green eyed girl in front of her.
She blinked enumerable times, and cleared her throat before speaking
"Oh .. Uhm s-sorry. I uhm, I was kind of in a hurry. I uhm, ehem. I'm sorry"
Is what she said, head shaking sideways making her curls fall in her face. She tucked some of it on her ear, eyes wandering around, not meeting Ace's green ones again
"'s alright" Ace responded, while offering her hand to the person in front of her
"Here, let me help you get up" her voice low and slow, hand still stretched out in front, waiting for the curly one to take it
The other gal snapped her head upwards again, blue eyes widens once more, and face painted with darker shade of pink this time
"Oh uhm" slowly, she reaches up for Ace's hand and gripping at it properly to help her stand up, while her other hand pushed herself up the ground
"Thank you" she politely said before giving a quick glance at the person in front of her
Ace hums as a response before bending down to pick up the curly gal's luggage.
"Here" she took her luggage from her, flinching a bit when their fingers brushed lightly with each other while muttering a quick, 'Thank you'.
Suddenly, Ace's ringtone burst out, breaking their eye contact. She reached for her phone on her back pocket, reading that it was her driver's caller id, she answered it.
"Hm?" Ace hums as her response, eyes trailing back to the blue eyed girl in front of her who's already staring right at her
"Miss, I'm already here. I'm sorry it took awhile. I got caught in the traffic on the way here" her driver immediately explains, but she was too drawn at the paired of blue eyes staring at her.
Ace can't actually point out why she can't take her eyes away from the curly lady before her. Her eyes clear blue with a bit of green on its rims that shines brightly as it hits the morning sun. Whenever she stares at her, Ace seems to get lost within its depth. It mesmerizing, captivating and confusing all at the same time. Her golden-brown curls that are tucked neatly between her ears, reaching her shoulder, looks magnificent and just downright beautiful. Ace wonders if it's smooth to touch, and oh, from the safe distance they have, Ace could smell her green apple mint shampoo. Her button nose with almost not visible freckles reaching her cheeks. She smells nice too, makes Ace wonder if it's her natural scent or if it's her perfume that illuminates such wonderful smell and oh, how can Ace not notice her red shiny lips? By just looking at it, she knows it's her natural lip color and she's sure as hell that it is smooth and-
"Miss? Hello? Are you there?"
She heard her driver asked, snapping her out of their mini staring contest that she didn't know happened and bringing her back from her deep thoughts about this fine lady in front of her. She cleared her throat first before stuttering to compose a single, 'Yeah'.
"I'm at uhm .. Ehem. I'm at the waiting lounge" all she could manage to say, not daring to look back at the person in front of her; afraid she might get lost in the depths of blue again.
She ended the call right after. Ace then fixes her clothes and runs a hand through her hair. When Ace spotted her ride, she picks up her bag at the ground. Risking to glance back at the curly lady that is still staring at her
"Oh. Uhm, I'd get going now, 's was nice bumping into you" Ace smiled down out her, dimples revealing
"Uhm yeah yeah. Erm yeah, same. I uhm ,'t was uhm yeah. Nice bumping into you. Erm no I mean, sorry again for bumping into you."
The other gal scratches the back of her neck, face turning red, making Ace chuckle quietly. She slowly turns her back away from her, and strides out at the car waiting outside. Leaving the girl with beautiful blue eyes standing on her place with face still in the shade of red.
But of course, Ace didn't leave her without saying, "Good bye, Curly."
