Chapter 6

UNIVERSITY OF THE EAST

HARRIET's POV // Present.

Six days had pass since Neesha, Zarrina, Louise and Harriet hang out on the rooftop during dinner, and it since had became a routine for the four of them.

They even had a dinner together with Harriet’s mother and the look on Louise's face upon knowing that they owned the whole complex was amusing.

“What?! You're kidding me right?!” she exclaimed while the other four, including Annie, Harriet's mother, laughed at Louise's reaction.

Past forward to the present, Zarrina caught Harriet smiling to herself as they rode inside their car on the way to school.

“You alright there, love?” Zarri nudge her. As she was woken up from her trance state, Harriet turned to her with her face turning red. Stuttering to compose a simple yes as she was caught reminiscing a memory.

Although Zarri was doubtful, she just let it slide with a shrug.

Once they arrived at the university, Zarrina and Harriet parted ways as they're both in a different building. They bid their good byes and just planned to meet at their favorite restaurant after their off.

Neesha was not with them because she only has an afternoon schedule, and with that reason, she volunteered to come with Louise. Knowing that they're both at the same building, unlike the other two.

Back at the complex, Louise was pacing back and forth in her room because she was nervous for her first day at her new university.

“Will you please sit down and calm down? I'm getting dizzy looking at you” Neesha, who was sitting at her bed, complained again

“I'm nervous, okay?! This is my first time in a new school, and only knowing three people. What if they won't like me?” Louise was clearly having an anxiety attack, she kept on pacing while biting off her nail

Seeing how distraught her friend was, Neesha approached her and held her shoulders tightly. Holding her in place and looked directly at Louise

“Hey, deep breaths, love. Deep breaths. Relax. Everything's going to be alright, yeah? They will like you, and if they won't, who cares? We're here. We're not gonna leave you, we're your friends. You got us now, alright? Nothing to worry”

Neesha smiled at her reassuringly, while rubbing small circles on her hands to soothe her. Louise exhaled and eventually relaxed

Yeah, she's right. Everything's gonna be okay. And with that, she gave her a smile and thanked her before they went outside to wait for their ride.

But as soon as they arrived, Louise's heart started pounding hard again, her hands shaking and sweating. But Neesha wrapped her arm around her shoulder, smiling at her and giving her a reassured look.

“You got this!” she said before they walk off towards the admin's building.

Neesha still got time to spare because her class won't start until four. She's still got three hours to kill, so she decided to accompany Louise and could assist her in touring the campus

When they arrived at the admin's office, they immediately introduced themselves. Louise was given all her necessary documents, including her keys to her own locker, and was instructed about everything she needs to know about the university. After their thirty minute discussion, Neesha promptly offered to tour her around.

After almost three hours of roaming around the university campus, Louise and Neesha found themselves inside the school cafeteria. They were both thirsty and hungry after that long walk in the sun. They were exhausted

“Hey, your class is starting in five minutes. You'll be late if you won't go now” Louise reminded her as they were eating, but Neesha just shrugged

“Nah, I think I'll skip my classes today. I'm so tired, and besides, I've only got two classes today”

The two girls were so busy talking that they didn't notice Zarrina walking towards their table

“Mind if I join in?”

“Oh, hey! Of course. How's your day?” Neesha asked, moving to her side so Zarri could sit next to her. While Louise just composed a short hello and a smile

“So tiring, I almost fell asleep in one of my lectures. Good thing one of my classmates threw a crumpled paper at me” Her voice was thick with sarcasm that it made Neesha and Louise laugh

“Let me guess, it's that Liam guy again. Innit?” Louise beamed, but Zarri just rolled her eyes, making them laugh again

According to Zarrina, Liam and her had always been bickering since day one. Liam is like a bug that kept on pestering her, and annoying her, as Zarri described him. She always complains about him that it got to a point that they would tease her

“By the way, how'd you find our school so far, Louise?” Zarri asked in the middle of their conversation

Louise just shrugged and continued eating before replying to her. “It's quiet alright. I think I'll like it here, especially that you guys are here too”

“That's good”

The three continued conversing until they heard the bell go off, indicating that their break is over. Zarri had to bid her good bye as she still has one lecture left, while Neesha and Louise finished their foods before they leave.

Louise class will start tomorrow morning, and she's quite excited about it. Knowing that new environment is what she really needs.

Looking at her new found friends, Louise's smile widened.

Fresh start, finally.
