I didn't know what to do or how to feel. I walked over to Weq and the prince and waved awkwardly. The prince smiled at me and then looked at Weq.

"Is this him?" He said

"Yep! The one and only Zerri." Weq said playfully punching me.

I was still very confused about the whole situation. Weq and the Prince obviously knew what was going on.

"So uh. You still haven't told me what is happening." I say.

"Well the king wants the prince to be safe at all cost." Weq said with a huge grin

"I don't understand." I say confused. "What does that have to do with me?"

"Well, I think instead of you being a butler..." He stopped dramatically. "You could be the Prince's knight!" He said almost shouting.

I glanced over at the Prince and then I quickly looked back at Weq. This is all so sudden. But I do wonder, why me instead of a trained professional.

"The reason we chose you was because it seemed like a great opportunity for you!" He said, almost like he was reading my mind.

"Your highness, are you sure you want me to be your personal knight?" I said looking at him. He grabs my hand and holds it with both of his.

"Of course! I wouldn't choose anyone else for the job." He held my hand and put it back down. "Sir Weq has told me about you, and I feel like you could be someone I could tell my problems too."

At this point, I could faint any second. He chose me because he feels like he trust me. I looked down in embarrassment and tugged at the bottom of my shirt. My face with still red and I think that Weq noticed.

"Alright, enough chitchat." Said Weq clapping his hands together. "We have to start training if you want to be a knight Zerri."

The Prince nodded in aggrement. After that, we started the training. The Prince said he was going to be here everyday to see how I progress.

The garden was quite larger than your average garden. The palace had everything a peasant house would have; only bigger and more extreme. I scanned the area for a good place to stand.

Weq tossed me a wooden sword and some leather armor. "First, a wooden sword." He said moving into place.
I was too distracted by the prince, that I didn't have enough time to get in place. I need to concentrate on the training. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me.

I threw the leather chest plate over my head and I clutched the wooden sword to my chest. My breathing patterns began to change rapidly as I held the sword.

"First you will learn defense." Said Weq picking up a wooden sword off of the ground. "Then we will move on to combat."

I turned the sword diagonal and wait for impact. I held my eyes closed and waited. I slowly opened one of my eyes to see Weq standing right in front of me. He hit me in the chest with the wooden sword.

"Annnd you're dead." He said with a sigh. I opened both of my eyes and looked at Weq. "If this was a real fight, you would be dead."

"Sorry." I mumbled. I felt embarrassed. Of course I did; I stood still and just accepted it.

"It's perfectly fine!" He said more cheery. "Just remember to keep your eyes open."

After a few more hours of training, I ended up being better than I thought. I messed a few times of course, but after I got the hang of it, I was really good with the sword.

Though it was awkward training with the Prince watching. He was walking with me back to the basement, and he started telling me that I did a outstanding job for my first time. We started talking to each other. Normally.

Once we reached our destination, I soon realized that it wasn't the basement door. It was a different room. I poked my head inside the room to see what was in it.

"This will be your new room." The Prince said as pushed the door open to let me in. I walked in with the Prince following behind me.

It was a small cozy room. It had a twin sized bed, a dresser, a desk, and many more things. The closest had clothes already hung up. A vase full of luscious red roses caught my attention. It had a note attached to it.

The Prince pulled me away from the vase before I had enough time to read it. He had his hand on my shoulder and he gripped onto me tightly. His dark hazel eyes met mine. They were so full of joys and wonders that I got lost in them.

He looked away and cleared his throat. "If I ever was in imminence danger, it would be smart if my knight slept next to me." He paused, then his eyes widen. "I-It be smart if my knight slept in the room next to mine." He rephrased.

The Prince looked back at me. "If you-" He said softly, then stopped to think. "If I am in need of your assistance, then I will stop by." He said more stern.

He let go of me and began walking out the room. He stop in his tracks and said "Have a good day Zerri." Then finally, he left.

I sat down in my chair to try and process the entirety of the day. I took a second to get of up and pace around my brand new room. Thinking of the Princes' constant mess up's made me giggle.

I walked out of the room and made my way back to the basement to get my things. On the way, a girl bumped into me. I bowed and apologized for running into her. She glared at me and scoffed before she walked away.

Rude. I thought. The girl wore a big white dress and a red ribbon in her hair. I've seen her before, but I couldn't quite remember.

Once I got my things from the basement, I headed back into my new room. I started putting things away and organizing my personal items. I sat down and stared at my self in the vanity.

I looked over at the vase of roses that stood next the me. I grabbed a hold of the note and read it.

Tomorrow, I would like to discuss a few things with you. I would also like to introduce you to someone. Be in The Meeting Room on the 4th floor at 2:25 PM
- Prince Rei

So that was his name. Rei. I can't wait to meet him tomorrow! I laid down on the bed, clutching the note in my hands. My life was going to change. It was going to be different.
