Greyson

I stare at Violet as she walks away. She takes slow, helpless strides towards the stairs with her shoulders slumped. This was not how this night was supposed to go. She was supposed to meet my mom, have fun with Rybekkah and Greer again.

But Alexander had to fuck it up. He had to do every-fucking-thing in his power, to embarrass the poor girl. Why? Because she's not Jayde. She's not a whorish white bitch that wants nothing but my money.

The fuel of rage begins to boil back up again. My ear tips burn, as if they are on fire. And with that I turn back into ballroom, all eyes facing me.

"You know what, dad. I think you're forgetting something very important that happened while mommy was gone. Remember? When you were FUCKING that college girl. In this house, in the exact bedroom you've shared with mom for over a decade. I cant belie—,"

"Shut your fucking mouth right now Greyson. SHUT THE FUCK UP," Dad rises from his seat now. Obviously drowning in pure anger and hopefully the same amount and more embarrassment he gave Violet. As he shouts at me, he points a staggering straight finger in my direction.

It is now my turn to smirk. To enjoy his pain. Dad notices the smile on my face and moves closer in my direction. His dress shoes stomping on the marble floor.

"You spoiled little bitch. After everything I've done for you," He grits through his barred teeth, inching closer and closer to me. Our faces not even an inch apart. He's trying to intimidate me.

The thing is. I don't care if he hits me. I'm willing to take a punch as long as it's defending my girl's honor. But I can't promise that I won't do any damage to him as well.

We have a stare off, challenging each other to make the first move.

"Alex. get the fuck out," I hear a feminine voice growl behind me. Twisting my neck, I look to see that my mother now raised out of her seat. The power dynamic changing.

Throughout my childhood, mom has always wore the pants. She would take care of us and my father. She'd tell him exactly what to do when it came to being a 'good' father, running a business correctly and to not be a shit person. And he would listen to everything she said, but for the sake of his fragile masculinity, he needed to appear like the man of the house. Who had a submissive, house wife who obeyed him and took great care of the kids.

"what?," My dad huffs out like an agitated dragon. Smoke blowing out his nose and ears.

"I said leave. You caused enough chaos tonight," Mom walks in between us with a gentle hand on our chest to push us further apart. Mom is an average heighten woman, but compared to Dad and I, she still appears small. "GO!."

Mom yells one last time at her husband. Disgust written all over her face. She gives him a hard shove, that doesn't cause him to move even slightly.

He glared down a mom, a softness coming over him before he turns a leaves the house entirely.

It's quiet now. No one daring to make a sound. Maybe it's because no one wanted to disturb the peace or because of shock. Whatever the case may be, relief is all I feel.

I stare at my mom who stood in front of me. Her face was in a frown, eyebrows knitted together and eyes drooped.

"Mom, Are you okay?," I wrap my arms around her and she responds by putting her head on my shoulder.

"Yes, sweetie. i'm okay, I'm just shocked I guess. Never thought I would find out this way, but i'm glad you told me, Greyson. I love you so much," She sniffles into my dress shirt and hugs me deeper before releasing me. After she lets go, she turns to the table where everyone else sat," Dinner is canceled for the rest of the night."
