Trigger Warning: Talk of suicide and death

February 29th 2021

I look out my office window and look up at the dark, grey, sky, imagining aliens from another planet flying over the city with the Avengers trying to send them home while they also stop Loki. Thor would be at Stark tower, fighting his brother while Hawkeye would be jumping off a 13 story building with nothing but his bow and arrow. Black Widow and Captain America would be down on the ground fighting the aliens as Hulk is jumping from alien to alien, ripping at their flesh. Iron man would be taking a missile up through the portal into space and hopefully not dying. I'm snapped out of my thoughts from the movie I literally watched yesterday when my boss walks in.
"You're all good to go home at five. There's meant to be a storm tonight and I can't have my employees getting themselves hurt in the storm." Chloe, my sister. And also my best friend. She and I have always been really close since our dad passed. Mum was never really home due to having to work extra to feed us and keep a roof over our heads. About 3 years after dad's death, she then killed herself. I'm pretty sure she did it due to stress, but Chloe is convinced it was because she didn't do anything to help with paying bills (even though mum would have rejected it any ways).
"You really are the best boss ever," I joke. "Plus, I have already finished everything," I say, smiling. Chloe walks over to my desk and picks up my laptop and starts to go through all of my work.
"Fine, all of your analyses are perfect and your photos are gorgeous so you can go home. Just call me when you get home, you know, so I know you're safe." I nod before grabbing my things and walking towards the door as Chloe followed. "I finish at 6 so I'll see you at home," Chloe blows me a kiss as she makes her way down the hall and into her office.

I walk to the elevator where I am greeted by a tall, man. I'm unsure of what his name is but he looks rather familiar. I give him a wry smile as I reach for the down button that has already been pressed. As we wait for the elevator doors to open, we stand there in silence for what feels like hours. Once the doors open, we both walk in and go to press the same button. As our fingers touch, I quickly move them away, not trying to look up at him. I just hear a quiet chuckle under the man's breath, causing me to look up.
"What's so funny?" I question, looking up into the man's ivy green eyes. He looks down at me and his smile fades away, then turns more into a grin.
"Oh, nothing really. Just the fact that you got all embarrassed that our fingers touched." He snarks. I roll my eyes and the second that the doors open, I practically run out and towards the exit. I keep walking towards my car before the rain hits. I get into my car and look out the window to see the man is coming closer to me. I look around for any other cars around but there aren't any near. I lock my car just before he gets to it and then speeds off, out of the car park. I see a car follow me out and start to follow my every turn. I decide to take a few little twists and turns before I can no longer see the car. Once I think I'm clear, I start to head home. I go through the four-way intersection about two minutes away from my house and when I'm halfway through, I turn my head slightly to see the same car from earlier, speeding down from the other side coming straight towards me. I couldn't move. I was stuck in the middle of the intersection, unable to move out of the way from harm and there was no way this guy was stopping. I try to move but by the time I can, my car was tumbling across the road.
