Part 1

March 7th 2018

I'm in so much pain. I can't remember much from after the crash. All I remember is darkness and the excruciating pain that I was in. Without opening my eyes, I try to listen to the conversation that is happening what I think is right next to me.
"What happened to her?" I hear a man ask. The voice seems familiar but I can't picture who it belongs to.
"No one knows. She just showed up here covered in blood and unconscious." There is another man. He sounds older, but like, only in his 40's or something. I manage to slightly open my eyes but then instantly shut them again after the bright light hit my eyes. "She's awake!" The second man exclaims. I try to open my eyes again and this time, it's darker. When my eyes are fully open and adjusted, I see a man leaning over the top of me.
"Woah!" I shout. The man moves back and stands next to the other guy.
"Oh my, I didn't mean to scare you." He apologises. "Would you like any water?" He asks. I nod.
"J.A.R.V.I.S. ask Pepper to bring some water to the lab." J.A.R.V.I.S? What the fuck?
"Right away sir." This must be a dream. I'm dreaming. This is not real!
"Miss, are you alright? Your vitals are increasing very fast." I turn to look at the two men, only to see that the one talking to me is Bruce Banner and the one beside him is Tony Stark. AS IN Iron-Man!
"Y–yeah, I'm fine." I start to calm down. Taking deep breaths in, and deep breaths out, relaxing.
"Tony! I have your water," I hear who I think is Pepper Potts shout as she is walking into the room. "Oh, hello. I didn't know we had company," she says in shock. I give her a small wave and smile as Tony kisses her cheek and grabs the water from her hand, passing it to me.
"Yep, she showed up last night at some point," Tony explains. Pepper just nods and starts to walk away when she turns back and looks at me,
"Umm, Miss–"
"Hazel Dischanel"
"–Miss Dischanel, there is a free room for you if you're staying any longer if you would like. You know," she pauses, gesturing around the room, "instead of being down here." I nod and she walks up the stairs.
"So, Hazel. Where did you come from? And where are your parents?" Tony questions.
"I don't really remember what happened last night other than driving home from work and getting hit by another car. And my parents are dead." I don't know if there was any other way of saying that but, that was the easiest. Tony's eyes widened as Bruce bowed his head, neither of them making any eye contact with me.
"Oh. So, like Pepper said, you can stay here for however long you want, your room is next to Spiderman. I'll show you the way." Tony says, still not exactly looking at me and then walks out of the room.

I follow him upstairs to the large sitting area where I see Captain America and Spiderman sitting on the couch.
"Hey, kid."
"Mr Stark."
"Are you going to your room any time soon?"
"Uhh, yeah, I need to do some homework. Why?"
"Because I need you to show Hazel where the spare room is."
"Okay," he says, sticking both of his thumbs up. As he gets up, I walk a little closer to him and then follow him out of the room.

"So, you're staying with us for a while?"
"Yeah, I don't have anywhere else to go," I reply. He stops and turns to me.
"Won't your parents be worried?" I simply shake my head. "Can I ask why?"
"They both died a few years ago." He gives me a bit of a sympathy smile but also an understanding one.
"I know how that feels. Losing both is hard." He lowers his head a little but quickly shoots it back up.
"Can I ask you something?" He nods. "Why do you wear your suit in this house when everyone here probably knows who you are?"
"I don't know, I guess it's just in case random people like you come here and randomly see me here."
"People like me?"
"You know. Outsiders." I nod, trying to progress whether what he said was an insult or not. "But I guess because you're staying here for a while–" he slowly takes off his mask and looks down at his feet before making eye contact with me. "–You can know who I really am." And there it is, Spiderman's true identity. "I'm Peter Parker." He says, holding out his hand for me to shake. I can't help but giggle as I shake his hand. I look at him and see that he is staring into my eyes. After standing there like that for like two minutes, I realise that we haven't let go of each other. I think he also realised when he quickly blinked and looked away, causing me to move my hand out of his grip.
"Umm, I'll show you your room now." He says, clearing his throat. I simply nod my head and follow him down the hall and then into another large area. There are a few doors scattered around the room but most of them have one side by side with another. We walk to the far end of the room and then stop in front of two doors.
"This one is your's," Peter says, gesturing to the door on the left. I nod as Peter opens his door. "It was nice meeting you, Hazel."
"Same here." And then he is gone. closing his door behind him. I start to open my door when I hear Peter cough a little. I turn to his door and see his head, poking out from the wall.
"If you need anything, just let me know." He holds out a small white piece of paper and smiles. "This is my number. Call me if you need anything." I return his smile and take the paper from his hand before going into my room.

This room is massive. It's exactly how I have always wanted my room to be. A swinging chair in one corner next to the window, a huge bed in the other corner of the room, and television against the wall. The room also has a large fluffy rug in the middle, a mirror wardrobe and a bathroom connecting. This is more than what I would have imagined for a room in the Avengers headquarters. The room does seem a little bit bland but I think I could fix that with some photos and lights. I go over to my bed and lay down. My body instantly sinks down and relaxes in this super comfy bed, causing me to fall asleep.

I'm awoken from a loud bang next door and a yelp. I quickly get up, fixing my bed head then going across to Peter's room. When I open the door, I see Peter sticking to the side of the wall, holding his head.
"Peter! What are you doing?" I scream. Peter removes his hands from his face and looks at me, jumping off the wall.
"Nothing!" He exclaims. I glare at him, knowing that he's not telling the truth. "Fine! I was jumping from wall to wall then hit my head." I can't help but roll my eyes at his stupidity. "Hey, don't roll your eyes at me. You probably jump on your bed." He presumes.
"When I was five!" I protest. "Well, you scared the living crap out of me."
"Sorry. I'll try not to do it again." Peter says quietly before smiling at me. "You were worried, weren't you?" He teases. I shake my head way too fast and practically shout,
"No! No, I was not!" Peter just laughs at my little outburst. I roll my eyes and leave the room.
"Dinner will be at seven!" Peter shouts as I slam the door closed.
