I woke up to the sound of rain drops hitting the roof. I checked my phone and saw it was 8:00 am. I got up and went downstairs, I walked into the kitchen where my mom was surprisingly cooking.
My mom usually goes to work around 6 am and comes home around 6 pm or sometimes 7 pm. But other days she goes to work at 5 pm and comes home at 5 am. Today I'm guessing she is going to work at 5 pm.
"Good morning mom" I said
"Morning" she said not turning to look at me
"Aren't you supposed to be at work?" I said sitting at island table
"Today I have the 5 pm to 5am shift" she said turning around and giving me a plate of pancakes.
"Thank you" I said and grabbed my fork then began to eat
After breakfast I went to get ready because I'm supposed to hang out with Hannah, Diego and one of his friends.
Around 9 I go downstairs and grab my skateboard. As I'm about to leave I hear my mom's voice ask where I'm going.
"To hang out with Hannah and Diego" I replied
"Ok be careful, Phelix will be out with friends to so call him if you need anything"
"Ok" was all i said before walking out the door
I got to Diegos house and walked in. We never really knock we just walked in our families were use to it and they didn't mind. Hannah, Diego and I were like family.
"Hey" I said once I walked in I close the door behind me and walk over to the coach. I sit next to Diego and she says
"Hey this is Carter, Carter this is phoebe" Diego said
Carter gives me a little wave and I give him a small smile in return
After an hour Hannah walks through the door. She comes and sits next me.
"Hey guys" she says then turn to Carter "I'm Hannah" she said with a smile
He smiles back and says "I'm Carter"
Ooo Hannah has that look in her eye. The one where she thinks someone is cute/good looking. She kinda stares when talking to someone she finds attractive and smiles. For me it's easy to tell but not for anyone else not even Diego.
"So what should we do?" Diego asks
"Let's go to the park" I said
"It's raining" Diego replied
"So?" I said
"So we can't go in the rain we're gunna get sick" Hannah says
"Maybe but it'll be funnnn" I said dragging the 'n' "and we can take Zora for a walk"
Zora is Diegos dog. She is 1 years old and she's a Doberman. She was Diegos birthday present from his older brother. He's always wanted a dog now he has one.
"Mmm fine I guess" Diego said
"YESS" I said happily
We all put on our jackets and rain coats then Diego goes to get Zora.
We then start walking to the park on the rain. The park is a 10 minute walk from Diegos house. So it wasn't that long of a walk.
We get to the park and we're just talking and walking around. Until Zora sees another dog and gets excited. She starts to pull towards to the and Diego get caught of guard which causes him to let go of her leash.
She takes of running towards the dog and we all run after her. By the time we get to her she's already with the other dog. We would've gotten their faster if we didn't have to run across the park.
I'm pretty sure the the older woman around late 60s was scared by Zora. Plus her little Shih Tzu dog hiding between her legs.
I got Zoras leash a pulled her back a little.
"I'm so sorry ma'am I didn't mean for my dog to scare you and your dog" Diego apologized
"She's really playful and friendly she doesn't bite at all" Hannah added
"Oh it's ok, she a big dog isn't she" the older woman said petting Zora on the head
"Yea she is" Diego replied
"What breed is she?" The older woman asked
"Doberman" answered Diego
After a few minutes we left and walked around the park.
"Ahh" I said as I slipped and fell in a puddle of water
I hear my friends burst out laughing and then I did to.
"Hey Hannah can you help me up" I said holding my hand out for her to help me up
"Sure" she said grabbing my hand to help me up but as soon as she did I pulled her down so she fell in the puddle where I am still sitting
Soon enough Diego and Carter started splashing in the puddle and Hannah and I got up and splashed with them. Then Zora joined us and started jumping and barking happily as we splash in the puddle.
We went from splashing to dancing in the rain. Having fun in the rain as we splashed and danced with our friends and Zora.
That was one moment where I was genuinely happy. One moment where I wasn't putting on a fake smile. Where I wasn't pretending. I was happy, genuinely happy with my friends.
