00: TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY

Noah and Mason have been neighbors for a very long time (or five years). But in those five years, these two men (more like boys by the way they act) have never talked to each other. Not even once. Not even when Noah moved in and Mason helped move his boxes into his new apartment (Noah simply thought he was mute but in fact Mason was researching for his newest [and failed] book).

These two have been through thick and thin. They survived super storm Sandy and the constant thumping (sex-drived neighbors) from across the hall. And yet neither have said a word to another until one fateful day in January.

///////

It was supposed to be a easy job for Noah. All he had to do was casually walk (sneak) into his competitor's bakery (the devil man-child, Matt) and get the recipe for his infamous key lime pie (it was actually pretty popular among the NYC crowd but you never heard it from Noah). But of course the incompetent man child (Matt) had to install a new security system and of course it just had to go off right when Noah grabbed the secret recipe.

So that's how we find Noah running from the cops on the streets of NYC to the only person he could trust (his best friend Lila). But with the luck Noah had tonight of course Lila was no where near her uptown apartment.

With the second of hesitation Noah took was a second too late for the cops had cornered him outside of Lila's apartment waving frantically trying to get a cab.

///////

For Mason, the night was as exhilarating as watching paint dry. So in other words it was extremely boring. Well it was extremely boring until Mason had one of his oh so brilliant ideas (in other words it was the stupidest idea ever conceived).

You see (or read) Mason is a struggling author (major emphasis on struggling). His side job as a door to door salesman is the only thing that pays the bills and keeps ramen noodles on the table. But Mason's dream is to become a best selling author. But the thing is, he needs an idea for this best selling book. Right now it's an action packed book about a crime fighting villain turned superhero. But in order to write this, he needed some experience. And what better experience then trying to rob a bank.

So that is how we see (or read) Mason getting shoved into the back seat of a cop car after very unsuccessfully trying to rob a bank. The same cop car which held his very Asian and very gay (and also extremely cute) neighbor, Noah. The very same cop car where our two protagonists exchange their first words to each other in five years.

"Hi"
