My friends and I rush to the cliff. Since today we graduated we wanted to celebrate by jumping in the water. In our town jumping off the cliff after you graduate is almost a tradition. We weren't about to chicken out.

Of course I'm the one that has to go first. I am the smallest but I am the most brave. The water is more rough than normal due to an incoming storm. The waves are crashing against the rocks like a punch to a punching bag.

"Arabella!" My best friend, Ashley calls.
"Yes?"
"Are you sure it's safe?"
"Of course! I'm not about to be the first graduate to chicken out."
"Okay." She agrees but she doesn't look convinced.

My toes slightly stick off the cliff and I take a deep breathe. Here I go, I think. Before anyone can stop me, I fall. My stomach rushing to my head. My cover-up waving in the wind like a flag in a windstorm.

I plunge into the water. The water felt so cold it felt like needles stabbing me. I couldn't reach the top. The water was tossing me around violently. I reach the top for only a split second and I was back in the water. The storm had rolled in fast. My friends were screaming my name and yelling for help.

I'm dying, I think to myself. I just graduated and I'm dying.

Finally my body felt too weak to fight and I just floated. A warm arm snakes around my waist and pulls me to shore. I cough out the water but I'm still too weak. It's so hard to breathe. I look up and see a boy staring down at me with scared eyes. I don't recognize him though. My friends rush to my side squealing like littles girls scared to death. But before I knew it I was unconscious.

'Beep, beep, beep' the most deafening beeping noise wouldn't leave my mind. It some how wiggled itself into my dream or well my nightmare. In my nightmare, I had graduated and all of my friends and I went to Graduation Cliff, so we call it. I drowned but some boy saved me.

I slowly opened my eyes and I'm blinded by the bright round light above me. I felt like in I was in a desert with a blinding sun.

I looked around and found the boy sitting in a chair, the same boy in the nightmare. Then it hit me and I started screaming. He woke up and ran immediately. The nurses treated me and I calmed down.

My friends walked in and thanked the boy for everything. I never really looked at him. He is actually attractive with his shaggy hair and blue eyes. He couldn't take his eyes off of me and I blushed.

"How do you feel?" He asked
"Good...I guess." I say, "who are you?"
"Shane Orwin alp... Uh I mean I went to your school."
Never noticed him, must be one of those annoying preps. "Okay."
"And you are?"
"Arabella Johnson."
"Beautiful."
"What?"
"Your name..."
"Thanks." I blush a little then close my eyes slightly, relaxing.

I was never that time of girl that blushes around boys. I'm strong and boys make you weak. He just sits there and watches me. For some reason I feel and pull to him something I have never felt before.

After a long while I am finally sent home. My parents were outside the hospital door waiting for me. This is the reason I never really liked my family... They didn't even bother to sit with me at my hospital bed or check in. Shane did though... Why is he still here?

He walks me to my car and says he hopes to see me at school. I agreed politely and we drove off.
