One Jump

Chapter 5:

I gulped nervous of what my parents will say. Will they let me move in even after we've known each other for only a few days?

I knock on the door and wait for an answer. My mom answers surrounded by little kids. She loves kids and cares for most of the children while their parents work.

"Where on Earth have you been? I haven't seen you in almost 3 days. Not a single text!"

How can I explain to her about werewolves. No way. "It's complicated."

"Complicated? You've been missing!"

"Bad people kidnapped me but a boy my age saved me and his family cared for me till I was better." Ah close enough.

My moms eyes soften then get hard again. She patted and checked my body. "Are you alright? Who would do this kind of thing!"

She led me to the kitchen and gave me a milkshake. The kids sat around me staring at me. If you ask me to describe it... Creepy would be all I said. My mom made sure everything was okay and asked if I could take her to Shane's house. That's when I built up the courage to ask.

"Can I move in with him?"

Her eyes widened, "What?"

"You know him, Shane Orwin. He was in my class. He took me on..." I paused, "dates."

She looked deep in thought, "Your so young."

"Mom I graduated. I'm an adult now. I can make my own choices, I just wanted your advice."

"Your too young is all I am to say."

"I'm 19."

"Fine. Go pack if that's what you plan on doing."

My mom seemed stressed and sad. She already has so much on her shoulders. I regretted that I even asked.

I walk slowly down the hall to my bedroom. I looked over my shoulder and the kids were staring at me on the other end of the hall. Creepy. I walked faster, opened my door and shut the door. I sigh and collapse on my bed. It's been so long since I've seen you bed.

I got up and packed all of my clothes and belongings. I left some stuff behind just so it's still homie. I head down the stairs and my mom and dad were chatting in the living room. They turn my way with sadness but there was something else there to. Anger? No.

"Shane Orwin huh?"

"Yeah..." What's the problem? He's hot, muscular and loves me. What's not to like?

"We don't want you near his family."

My heart drops and I am on the brink of crying, "Why... Why not?"

"They are werewolves and our kind do not get along with them."

I stare blankly in confusion. Our kind? Am I not human? Or is human what they are talking about? How do they even know?

"Foxes and Wolves don't get along."

I blink even more shocked. I'm a fox?

My mom walks my direction and looks me in the eye. Her eyes begin to flow a bright yellow and her teeth enlarge. I can't believe it!

"But Shane is my mate!" They can't keep me from him.

My parents are taken aback and look at me then each other. They whisper things that I don't understand. My mom sets her hand on my shoulder.

"What ever you do... Don't let Stilos find you. Shane's pack will protect you. Tell his parents right away. Go."

I give them hugs and walk outside towards my car.

My world just got a little stranger.
