Chapter 6
Minho and I hurry into the bathroom to freshen up before Blake becomes suspicious of our activity, and then we find the guards to guide us to the dinning hall.
"Nice of you to join us," Blake says, while inspecting us.
"Sorry, Minho and I decided to walk around for a bit while you guys were in the bathroom and got lost," I lie.
"Well, hurry up and sit down, we have an important day ahead of us!" Blake shouts in glee, giving me shudders.
I take a seat next to Brenda, giving her a glowing grin and she returns the same expression and hugs me tightly.
Blake shouts for the guards to deliver the food, and his optimistic eyes look around the room, and his mood soon changes as he looks at an empty chair. "Who's missing?!" Blake shouts, and stands up urgently.
Brenda gives me an anxious look and I shrug in response. Minho glances at me, and I give him the same worried look, Shit Gally!
"Guards go find the missing person!" Blake shouts with rage. I haven't seen him this angry in a while.
"Hold up!" I scream, trying to buy Gally sometime, "It's just Gally, he isn't a people person, and I think it would be best if I went to find him."
Blake laughs, "I don't have time for this, Guards-"
"What's with all the commotion?" an approaching figure says.
Blake squints at the limping figure, we all do.
"You guys can continue."
"Where have you been?! Today is an-"
"An important day, yes you've told us for the millionth time. I slipped getting out the shower, and laid on the ground for several agonizing minutes shouting for someone to help, but sadly no one did so I had to push myself up and walk to get here." Gally says.
Blake straightens his voice and collar, obviously embarrassed for his actions, and sits back down. "Well, next time be careful, because you're wasting my time. Hurry up and eat guys."
We all dig in, devouring the crispy bacon, and fluffy scrambled eggs.
"Why were you up so early?" Brenda asks me.
I swallow hard, I don't want to lie to her, but I get this deep gut feeling that I should. "Couldn't sleep."
"Hmmm..."
"What's with the hmm?"
She looks down at her eggs, and moves it around anxiously with her fork, "Are you lying?"
"No, if something important happened, I would tell you."
"Thomas I heard you talking to Minho this morning," she looks up at me, disappointed
My face drops and my heart breaks, I hate to hurt her like this, "Okay, so-"
"Hey Thomas," Gally interrupts, limping towards me. I didn't even realize everyone was cleaning up.
