Chapter 5-part 1

                                                            Thomas P.O.V.

I don’t know how long I’ve been in thought, but I finally pull myself together and escape the darkness.

At first I shield my eyes away from the fluorescent light, but my eyes soon adjusts to it. All I can think about is Gally; I must find him.

I begin to speed walk, and I break into a sprint, looking into each room I pass for Gally, no luck.  I feel my heart frantically bang against chest, and sweat droplets form on my brow. I don’t know why I’m panicking, but I try to control my breathing, but it’s no use; I keep running.

Before I could even blink, I collide with someone, sending both of us crashing to the ground. I bang my head and back on the ground and groan in anguish, while stroking the back of my head.

            Ugh! My head!

I push myself off the ground, and stare at the person I bulldozed; Blake. Oh Great!

“Trying to hurt me again Thomas?” Blake teases, while dusting off his pants.

I try to control my breathing to a medium so he won’t suspect anything. “Sorry,” I mutter.

He glares at me suspiciously, causing me to swallow hard, “So why were you running?”

“Oh, I heard a screaming coming from this direction,” I lie.

“Mhm…” Blake inspects, “Well I didn’t hear anything.”

“Are you sure? I could have sworn I heard someone scream.”

            “Yes, definitely.”

“Well, I guess am hearing things,” I shrug anxiously, “Or maybe I’m tired.”

            “Perhaps.”

“Well, I guess I should go to bed,” I walk away, hoping he buys my story.

He says nothing more, but I feel his intense stare, invading my soul, then a few seconds later I hear the decline of footsteps.

I puff out a heap of air stored within me and sigh in relief.

I finally find the dorm with the Gladers, but only a few are in there, and I see Gally sitting on his bed, observing something in his hands.

I walk over to him, and tap his shoulder. He jumps back in sheer shock, “Shank!” he yells in fright. He got a few strange looks and giggles from the others in the room, but they quickly went back to what they were doing.

All I could do was laugh, but I tried my best to contain it, “Sorry Gally.”

He glares at me and exhales loudly, “What do you want?”

“I want to talk to you in private,” I whisper.

            “You could do it here.”

            I sigh and whisper, “Giovanna.”

He shoots right up and grabs me by the arm, dragging me somewhere quiet.

            “You met her?” Gally asks.

I nod, “She is crazy,” I blurt out.

“No she isn’t shank,” Gally spits out at me, all defensively.

            I smirk, “Sure.”

            “Why are you smiling?”

            “Someone must have a crush.”

Gally blushes, “Did you have something important to say, or can I leave now.”

“She says she knows the cure, something about it being a dream or part of my imagination.”

            “I’m aware.”

            “So you concur?”

“Yes and it’s not that crazy if you think about it.”

I laugh, “I can’t believe you think she’s right! After all that has happen. After all we’ve seen!”

“Maybe if you shut your shuck-face hole and listen, you’ll believe also.”

I sigh and nod, still believing this is all bullshit.

“Do you ever think this is all a dream?”

I play along, “I wish it was.”

            “Well, maybe it is.”

My face contorts into confusion, and I raised my brow.

“This could all be a dream. We could be asleep, trying to figure out a cure. This could be a trial.”

I nod, thinking that he has ridden the crazy train as well, “If so, how do I wake up?”

Gally lowers his head to the ground and swallows hard, “You must die.”

My eyes widen and my tone changes, “Must die! Are you fucking mad!” I shout.

“Keep your voice down,” Gally demands. “I understand its crazy klunk-for-brains! That’s why we need proof.”

I calm down, and breathe, “How?”

“We have to visit her tomorrow.”

I sigh, “Okay, but don’t get angry if I call both of you guys out on your bullshit.”

Gally laughs, “No promises Shank,” Gally responds, and walks back to the dorm.

I hope this shuck-face is right. I need to find minho and tell him all this, so he can reason with me and I’ll be sure I’m not the only sane one here. However, I’m too tired to even blink, so I’ll just tell him tomorrow, and I head back to the dorm.

Sorry this chapter took so long, *sighs* school. i know this chapter isn't very exciting, but chapter 5 part 2 will be much better. I'm thinking of breaking my chapters into 2 parts to make the story longer and easier for me to publish quicker.
