Chapter 5

"Hey," I smile, getting in the car.

"Hey, princess," Joey smiles, kissing me on the cheek.

I smile oh, turning to him. I grabbed his arm, pulling him into a real kiss.

"I just wanted to say thank you for everything," I smile, looking away while blushing. Joey doesn't say anything, just pulled me into a deep, long kiss.

"You're welcome, princess," He says, smiling."Are you ready to go? "

I nod, asking, "Where are we going, Joey?"

"Oh, princess, I can't tell you that. It's a surprise," He smiles.

A few minutes later, we pull up to a beautiful picnic area with pink blossom trees, by a little river. Joey gets out of the car and opens the door for me.

"Aw thank you," I smile, "You did all of this for me? It's so beautiful."

"Of course I did, princess," He smiles, grabbing my hand. "I have something to give you."

"Ok," I say, turning so my back is facing him.

He pushes all my hair to one side and puts a necklace on me. It's a beautiful gold necklace with a rose, and in the middle of the rose is a small diamond.

"Oh my god, thank you," I give him a hug. "I feel really bad now. I didn't get you anything."

"It's ok, princess," He smiles, as I turn to face him.

"Thank you so much!" I smile, giving him a kiss.

He laughs, saying, "You're welcome, but there's something else I want to ask you."

"Joey, what is it?" I ask, confused.

He sighs, mumbling, "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Oh my god. He asked me, of all people. There are so much prettier girls at our school. Why would he want to be with me?

"You know what, I get it. I shouldn't have even asked," He sighs and starts walking away.

I grab his hand to stop him, and say, "Joey, I was just thinking about something. I would love to be your girlfriend."

He turns to face me and smiles. He picks me up, spins me in the air, and kisses me.

He then puts me down and asks, "Do you want to eat?"

I nod, and we eat ham and cheese sandwiches. After that, we cuddle, looking up at the stars. This has been so amazing. I never knew he could be this sweet.

"Hey, Princess?" He interrupts my thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"It's time to go to the party," He sighs, getting up. He extends a hand to help me up, and we get into his car.

We arrived at the party at about midnight. Joey opened the car door for me, grabbed my hand and we walk into the party. We see Breonna, Aubrey, and Brad.

"Hey, guys!" I yell over the music.

"Hey, girl," Breonna slurs.

"What's going on with you two?" Aubrey asks.

"We're dating now," Joey answers, leaning down to kiss my cheek.

"What? Since when?!" Breonna shrieks.

"Since today," I reply flatly.

"When did you two even start liking each other?" Aubrey asks, taking a sip of her drink.

"I've liked her since the day we met," Joey sweetly smiles at me, as I sit on the couch.

"Well, I'm gonna go get a drink. Do you want one?" Joey asks, looking at me.

"Yeah, sure," I smile, as he walks out of the room.

Breonna and Aubrey go outside with Brad to go swimming, leaving me alone in a room full of strangers. I didn't want to mess up my hair and makeup that I spent hours on, so I didn't go with them.
