- 1999 -
The young black haired boy stares out his window watching the neighborhood kids play with their dads, smiles so bright and expressing all their joy and love. Four years old and stuck in his very own playroom with a nanny watching over his every move. His parents are working at the company and won't be back before he goes to sleep.
He's four years old but he's smart, was able to read a book fully on his own by two and a half, write his name by three. He knew his parents were at work and working hard to give him everything he could ever ask for. He was spoiled, he had a nice and fancy house. He had a live in nanny at his beck and call.
He had it all, at four. Not most- not the majority of the world's population could relate. He may not understand how the sun and moon switch places everyday, or how when you stare hard enough, the clouds could be seen moving but he does understand that his parents work.
But even at four, he feels alone and no one knows.
Another night of not seeing his parents. Another night of not hearing his mother's soft voice singing him a lullaby. Another night of not getting a goodnight kiss and fist bump from his dad.
Another night of being alone, at four. Nothing new.
- 2005 -He plays baseball with his dad at the high school's baseball field. The sun shining bright, heat radiating so hot that you sweat by just standing still. Jimin stands at the batter's plate while his dad is at the pitcher's mound prepping his hand and arm for a throw to his 10 year old son.
He's wearing a suit, just coming from an early morning meeting, he went straight home to pick up his son and spend some much needed one on one time.
Jimin couldn't be happier. Things had been changing since he was five. His parents started coming home earlier since his mom fell pregnant with his now five year old sister, Nabi.
After a couple rounds of tossing and hitting, the father son duo sat on the bleachers to eat their sandwiches that Mrs. Park made with the small help of Nabi.
"How's school, little man?" His dad asks him as he bites into his sandwich. Jimin nods his head since his mouth is full. "Good." He answers simply before taking another bite.
"Got a girlfriend or anything?" He chuckles, tapping the tip of Jimin's baseball cap and trying to break the weird distance between them. He's noticed his son's awkward behavior lately.
"No... a crush but that's it." Jimin replies looking at his dad with eyes of love and a small shrug. He's missed these moments with his dad even when he doesn't show it often, he really does love these moments. He's just scared that what happened for the first four years of his life will happen again, now being worse since he has a sister to look out for.
