Running from the Sky

Well, there were so many things I hated about school. It was terrible!

First of all, it was full of Ruiner kids. All they did. was talk bad about the 'slave' kids and they all try to get into fights. Some people would try to act better than everyone else and they would try to be smarter than everyone else! They were so ignorant!

Right when I woke up, Marie made me put on a bright red uniform. "You have to wear it," she said. "Or they won't let you in the building." When I worked at the factory, I wore old raggedy clothes, but the Ruiner kids wore new, clean, crisp uniforms in they they away if the got the smallest tear in them!

Marie made me ride a bus to school. There were brats swearing at each other at little kids trying to act all cool.

I sat in the back. My first mistake.

An older girl turned around and looked at me. What are YOU doing here, freak?" she said. "Get in the front!" I realized something at that moment. This girl had no street smarts, she thought she was so cool, and she was a brat. Oh yeah, and she was a Ruiner.

"No," I said. "You can move." "Get AWAY!" she

Then, I turned and looked at her. She had dirty blond hair in one of those half-ponytails. Her face was really chubby. She almost took up the whole seat because she was HUGE.

I gave her my defense-look. "Listen," I said. "I'm sitting here. You can shut up an let me sit here, or you can move your lazy but on out of here." She looked angry. She cheeks turned bright red and her eyes squinted at me. She was about to yell something when another kid said, "Dia! Sit with me!"

The chubby girl, who must have been Dia, looked at me. "Listen, kid," she said. "It must be your first day here so I'll cut you a break, freak, okay?"

She then moved next to her friend.

By that time, I was at school.

As the bus stopped, people started to shove each other to get to the exit first. I got off last because I didn't mean to stir up too much trouble on my first day.
