Just in case you didn't know, processing food isn't fun. I didn't even get paid! All day, I would throw cow guts into a meat grinder. It was sickening! Thank goodness that all we got to eat was old vegetables. I wouldn't eat that processed cow even if I was starving!
I remember my first day at the Factory. The smell was enough to make some people puke! I was assigned the task if throwing the old meat into the meat grinder. July worked there, too. I've always had that job. That's how it is. The job you get stays your job!
Every night, when I was at the Building, July would tell me stories. She would tell me make believe stories sometimes. She would sometimes even tell me happy stories from when she was younger before 'they' came to the planet.
Every once in a while, I wouldn't mind being a slave. Other days, I would get frustrated and angry that they took over the world.
One day, I was sick, and I was allowed to stay at the Building. That day, July never came back. I asked my friends who worked at the factory where July was. They whispered, "She ran away. The guard will tell you that she died, but she actually escaped." Later, the guards told me that she had fallen into the meat grinder. I knew that they were lying. They didn't like to admit that they were wrong.
