BARAAT
The most exciting part of the marriage is when the bride is watching through the corner of the window and the groom comes in sitting on the horse while the relatives and friends are dancing it all out.
Baraat is an Indian wedding tradition where the groom accompanied by his family and friends dance all the way to the bride’s doorstep or wedding venue, dresses up in traditional Indian Wedding wear. In other words, baraat is an Indian wedding ceremony where the groom announces to the world that he has come to take the bride with him.
In this Baraat, the groom carries a sword and a little boy sometimes accompanies him too known as sarwala. As the Baraat reaches the wedding venue the elders of both the families meet and proceed with the Aarti(to prevent them from evils) ritual to welcome the Groom and his family in.MARRIAGE
the Hindu wedding ceremony at its core is essentially a VEDIC YAJNA (sacred fire) ritual and three key rituals are almost universal:Kanyadan, Panigrahana, and Saptapadi which are respectively, giving away of his daughter by the father, voluntarily holding hands near the fire to signify union, and taking seven 'steps before fire'. (Each 'step' is a complete circuit of the fire.)
Sindoor and Mangalsutra (a necklace given by the groom to the bride) are essential in Hindu marriage.
