Mommy you're awake

Ava's pov*
I'm starting to hear voices. They seem familiar, could they be Brooklynn's and Ethan's? I open my eyes slightly and see Tanya, Ethan, and Brooklynn all sitting on the couch. Tanya is talking to Ethan, Ethan's talking to Tanya, and Brooklynn she's sleeping on her blanket. Ethan must have noticed I was awake, because one minutes he's sitting on the little bench next to my bed, then he's running out of the room. "Nurse, nurse, she's awake awake." I see a young woman by the name of Skyla come into the room. "Well look who's awake, how are you?" "A little groggy, but okay." "Well you took quite a tumble, the other day." "Really?, I don't remember anything." "Yes, your husband and daughter were quite worried, oh and that "bad news" we had for you. Wrong file." "Oh okay, I guess that's good." "Yes, well I'll leave you all to talk and relax." The nurse Skyla leaves the room, Tanya and Brooklynn leaving shortly after to go get food. I look at Ethan, shy smile on his face, smirk on mine. "Husband, huh?" "Yeah, well..." "No it's fine, we're dating now right?" "Yeah, that's true." We then invite Tanya and Brooklynn back into the room. "So did he tell you when you could go home?" "Who Ethan?" "Yes him." "No he did not." "Well Dr. Lowe said you could leave around 3 today of tests come back good." "That's great!" "It sure is, we have a surprise at home for you too." "Cool, I can't wait." "Neither can I!" Brooklynn giggles away.

3.pm.
"Alright let's go home." I said. "Yeah let's go!" Brooklynn screams with happiness. I get in my dress and cardigan, throw on my flats and walk out the door of my hospital room. "Alright who's riding with who?" I ask. "I wanna wide with nana!" Brooklynn shouts. "Okay, Ethan and I will ride in his car then, mom you do have her car seat right?" "Yeah, I do." We all got into our assigned car and drive out of regions hospital. Ethan and I need to discuss what we are.

Me- what are we?
Ethan- what do you mean?
Me- are we boyfriend girlfriend, two friends raising a kid together? What are we?
Ethan- what do you want to be?
Me- I want to be your girlfriend.
Ethan- then you will be.
Me- really. Okay. Let's go home to our daughter?
Ethan- our daughter.

So that was it, we have a daughter together. However I remember that Brooklynn isn't even legally his child. I then bring it up to him.

Me- We should stop at the court house, so we can get the adoption papers. I mean you want her to be your daughter right?  

Ethan- Hmmmmmm, I mean yes. If shes going to be OUR daughter, I should but is the court house even open on sundays?

Me- Yeah, but only until 5, so we better hurry.

We get off on the next exit, and pull into the court house car park. We get out and grab hands. Sprinting  into the building, we step up to the front desk, and i ask for my lawyer Mr. Martin.

"Yes, well he has another client, so he'll be out soon." The bald at the desk says.

"Thank you, so much!" I reply.

We go take a seat on those sticky, plump chairs.

"Miss Ava Collin..... and guest?" "Haha, yes sir." We walk into Mr. Martin's office. "Hi, Mr. Martin. I'm here, WE'RE here for adoption papers."  "Is he adopting your daughter, Miss Collins?" "Well, call me Ava, Mr. Martin." "You know I can't call clients by first name Miss Collin." Mr. Martin said sharply. "Miss Collin, would you like the papers or not?" "Yes, sir. May we please sign them? We would like for Brooklynn to be our child, not just my child." He reaches into his desk drawer and pulls out a stack of about 10 pieces of paper. Ethan grabs a pen off of Mr. Martins desk. He grabs the first piece off of the stack. "I'm very excited to become a father." "I know Ethan, I am too. However are you prepared to become a father, and get yourself involved with this mess of a family?" "Yes, I'm perfectly prepared to handle this. Do you understand that this isn't just me trying to get closed to you by using your daughter, this is me in it for the long run? I plan on marrying you, and possible having one or two more children." I was stunned, I didn't think nor ever consider Ethan being in it with me and brooklynn for the long haul. "Wow." He just nodded and giggled a little. God his laugh was so cute. How I never noticed him in school was a mystery.

*After Ethan signs the papers, in the car*

Me- Ethan, when we were in the office, were you serious about marrying me and having a few more children?

Ethan- Yes, I'm serious. The first time we kissed, the first time Brooklynn called me dad, I want those memories forever. I don't want it to be just that one thing. I've never had a family. My father left when I was a young child, my mother overdosed on drugs when I was ten. So yeah, i want a family and you and Brooklynn are the closet I got. I mean even Tanya is considered family to me.

Me- Wow, Ethan I had no idea any of that ever happened. Why didn't you tell me when we met?

Ethan- I thought you'd think I was some sort of mental patient, or talking to you to try and get pity from you.

Me- Ethan....

Ethan- You don't have to say it. I know that's what you're already thinking.

Me- No that's even more reason to love you. That's what I thought growing up, sure I was adopted by Tanya and the now non-exsist Kyle when i was two months old but I still saw my biological parents, then they died and I just stopped talking altogether.

We pull up to the apartment complex, get out of the car and he hands me a blindfold.
"What's this for?" "You'll see, be patient." I wrap the thick piece of cloth over my eyes, Ethan grabs my hand and walks me up the steps, then into the complex that is 4B.  Ethan unwraps the blindfold. Tiger lilies and a small dark haired four year old sit on the table. Brooklynn holds in her hand a small red velvet box. Ethan goes and picks up Brooklynn. "Dadddy, can I ask mommy the question?" "Yes, my little pumpkin spice." "Misses mommy, Mr. daddy would like to know if you want to marry him?" I'm stunned, he must have put alot of work into this. "Yes, I'll marry you!"

Ethans pov*

I have a family, for the first time. I truly have a family.

Hey, sorry I've been gone for so long. I didn't have my laptop so i couldn't write. I just got it back. I'm really proud of this chapter. I think it's the best chapter in the whole book! Okay so it's 1:30 in the am. I'm gonna hit the hay. Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
