-Rock and Flower-

Waking up for work was terrible. Going to bed at 3:45 was not my best move for such an early shift. I was painfully tired. I had so much fun though, so no regrets. Even though I was exhausted, thinking about him and our night gave me butterflies and put a stupid smile on my face. No bone in my body wanted to go to work. I just wanted to keep talking and laughing with him. I decided to text him.

george :)
'thanks to u i'm gonna die of exhaustion'
'all bc u thought u were good at bedwars'
'when i'm clearly better B-)'
'but i guess id say i had fun:)'

Work was painful, as expected. George hadn't shown up. Not that I expected him to at all, considering the night we had. I had also been checking my phone all shift, hoping for a text back, receiving nothing, obviously.

I checked my phone at 2:15 again, forty-five minutes before my shift ended, and there was a message.

george :)
'cant believe u actually woke up that early'
'holy shit im so dead'
'then u must be forgetting all the times i killed u stupid'
'bc we know that's not true'
'me too though :)'

Ugh. He gave me butterflies in the middle of work. How rude. I'll respond after my shift, I guess. He kept me waiting, so I'll let him wait a bit.

At 2:58, as I was getting ready to clock out, I heard my name from across the room. It was George. Fuck. I looked over and smiled at him. God, was I happy to see him.

"Oh, well look who decided to wake up," I said to him with a smile plastered to my face.

"Hmm. You didn't respond to my text." He replied back, mimicking my smile.

"What am I supposed to do about that? I'm literally at work."

"I don't care. I should be a top priority. Text me back as soon as I send it." I laughed lightly, while he just watched and smiled. He started again. "Alright, make me a smoothie then. I'll take that as compensation for not responding to me immediately."

I turned to him and gave him an exaggerated glare.

"Too bad, so sad. Someone else will make your smoothie. I'm clocking out in a minute and I'm not doing that for you, Mr. Sassy Pants."

He scoffed, then started again.

"What am I meant to do then? I don't want a smoothie if you don't make it for me."

He watched me clock out. I looked up at him and shrugged. I didn't know what to say, so I just went to the back room to get my bag. When I walked back out, I saw him staring up at the menu. When he noticed me again, he immediately groaned.

"You're really not gonna make me anything?" I laughed and started walking towards the door.

"I'm going home, stupid. Order from Brent, you'll like him just as much as you like me." I said, as he stood in a state of disbelief staring up at the menu. I walked right by him, and gave his arm a little punch as I walked by. Without looking at him, I could tell his head was turned, staring at me. I so badly wanted to turn around to admire him at this moment, but instead I kept my cool and walked right out the door. I felt my face heat up. Within ten seconds, I heard my name again. I didn't turn around, but kept walking. I heard steps behind me pick up pace until he was right next to me.

I felt my heart speed up. Ugh. Stupid boy making me feel stupid things. I started up conversation.

"Huh. Guess you don't like Brent, then."

"Not really, to be honest. He looks like he might actually beat me in Bedwars," he smirked.

I turned to him, mouth open and smiling, and lightly punched him in the arm again. He deserved it for that one. He laughed at me.
