The sun rose from the ever so familiar shades of dawnlit skies, sweet honey horizon lined with oak trees. It brought light into ThunderClan's territory, a calm, peaceful feeling with it. Sunshine sneaked inside the nursery through the thick patch of brambles. It sent small, petal-shaped bundles of light dancing on your fur, trying to get you up from the sweet and warm safety of your mother's side. And then a piercing pain in your tail appeared out if nowhere.

"Let me sleep you feather-brained thornbush!" You exclaimed, recognising the loud thumping of the brown tabby kit without even needing to open your eyes.

"You sleep the whole day! Time you get your back outside of the nursery for once." Tigerkit muffled through fur. Just as annoying as he always is.

He pulled you out of the den by your tail, your attempts to crawl back into the homey warmth of bramble covered safety useless. So much for that peaceful sleep!

"Y/k/n!! Hi!" Whitekit meowed, bouncing towards you and Tigerkit.

"Howdy..." you grumbled with a visibly not so happy face. You snatched your tail away from Tigerkit, cuddling it your paws. "Thanks for ruffling my fur."

"I have gathered you all here to discuss how can we keep y/k/n alive." The brown tabby tom-kit announced, imitating the tone you heard leaders and deputies often speak with.

"Battle-tag!" Whitekit shouted, making you flatten your ears to the back of your head.

"Yes, perfect idea! I'll be ThunderClan leader." Tigerkit spoke up instantly, snatching the main role, not surprisingly, like always. "ShadowClan will be the one attacking. Y/k/n you're my deputy."

You stalked to his side, grumbling loudly. Couldn't you decide for once who to wants to play? And then he wondered why you never played anything with them. "What about you?" You cast a questioning glance to Whitekit.

"ShadowClan warrior, I guess." He meowed, sticking out his tongue at Tigerkit. "Since the spoiled leader of ThunderClan always takes the big stats!"

Running around camp wildly, like squirrel among trees, the warriors either rolled their eyes or chuckled in amusement. Tiny paws of yours landed on Whitekit's back as you pinned him to the ground with a meow of triumph. But he shut his jaws around your paw, ending in you flying off him in surprise. He ran, not for long with Tigerkit close behind. The two tom-kits rolled around in play fight, it resulting in the victory of the brown tabby. You refused to admit it, but your sleepiness was long gone at this point, and all you were was a bundle of new found energy.

Whitekit ran towards the warriors den, sending a last mocking glance at Tigerkit. The white furball knew what he was doing, and so did you started to solve the puzzle in your head as Thistleclaw emerged with a proud Whitekit at his side. Poor Tigerkit.

You couldn't help but chuckle as your denmate shrank and crawled behind you, an apologetic and scaredy smile plastered on his face. He gulped as the warrior neared.

"Well, what do we have here?" The grey and white older tom questioned with a stern face, Whitekit snickering behind his father. "Did any of you dared to leave a claw on my precious son?"

"He did!" You and Whitekit yelled, earning a betrayed glare from Tigerkit. Thistleclaw lashed his tail tauntingly.

"U-um it w-was all just a little playfight!" he sluttered, staring back at the warrior. Shaking his head to cover up his fear, the kit straightened his posture and took on a strict face. "In self-defense, of course." He meowed, like a whole another cat. The cocky and fearless side of him. Mainly just a mask, no one could ever top his silly cowardly mind.

"Make that the last time i hear of such a thing." Thistleclaws murmured sternly. But you caught him, even if just barely, sending a sneaky wink at his son. You audibly giggled.

The brown tabby kit, still sheltered behind you, huffed at your laugh. "Not funny! He could have snitched on me to the leader and delayed my apprentice ceremony!" He pouted. "Traitors!!"

"Next time make sure to leave me to sleep then." You purred, jumping back towards the nursery in delight.

"You jumped at me first." You heard Whitekit rent with a smug voice in the distance while making your way back to that sweet warmth of the nursery.

Settling down beside your mother's belly, you heard her chuckle softly. She gave a few gently rasps of her tongue on your forehead before laying back to sleep. So did you slip into a peaceful slumber, actually happy to have had a bit of fun outside. But sleep still seemed more promising, in the warm-warm nursery.
