Chapter 14
Ari's POV

What the f*** did I just do?

I run my hands through my hair as I go through my house.
The sun hadn't risen yet, making the time around 2 to 3 am. Yippee, no sleep.

My dad's snores echo through the hallway as I grab oatmeal raisin cookies and flop on the couch.
Why did I kiss him? I wonder. How am I supposed to face him on our skip days this week?
Now my emotions are fucked. Hooray.

I groan.
Stupid stupid emotions. Ughhh.

My discord notifications ring.
Perhaps Hulu and roleplaying on a Camp Half-Blood server will help me.
I have no idea anymore.

A knock sounds on my door, and I bolt awake.

I stand and go look through the peephole.
Dad stands there with a lot of food.

There's a box of donuts from Krispy Kreme, a bag of bagels from the local bakery, and more breakfast items from IHOP and another local place, Tex and Shirley's.
My mouth drops, making an O.
I open the door.

"What is all this food for, Dad?"
He shrugs.
"I thought we could do a family feed together. We haven't done one since Liza left for college."

I smile.
"That sounds awesome."

Dad nods, and I quickly dash inside and put on an appropriate set of clothes.
I change into them quickly and meet Dad back outside.
He grabs the wagon and puts the food in.

"Ready?"
I nod.

I pull the wagon down the start of the sidewalk, and we go to our next-door neighbours' house.
Her name is Ms. Ariadne Suri, and she is an elderly lady with a gigantic house and a sheltie named Andie.
I reach the front steps and ding-dong.

She answers a few minutes later.
"Good morning Ari and Octavian."
My dad frowns at his full name. We all just call him Tavi, how he prefers it.

I've pressured him into legally changing it to that, but he knows that my grandparents would beat him for that.

"Good morning Ariadne," I reply, smiling. "Would you care for some breakfast?"
She nods.
This is where I put my most polite tone on.

Dad tells her all the food options.
Ariadne picks some donuts and a coffee and smiles.
"Thank you."

We wave as she goes inside, and continue down the street.
We pass out more breakfast to the neighbours and we reach Nik's house.
I smile and ding-dong.

Nik answers a few moments later, and smiles.
"Good morning Clare family, what have you got for us today?"

Dad chuckles.
"Good morning Nikolai. We have some bagels, donuts, coffee, French toast, whatever you want."
Nik takes a bunch for his family when I overhear clambering footsteps down the stairs.
The triplets are up.

"Donuts!" Alina shouts as her blonde hair flows behind her, and she grabs a strawberry donut from Nik.
"Alina, Nina, Genya, please calm down," Nik says as the three girls grab their choice of breakfast and dash back inside.

I smile.
"Sorry," Nik replies.
"No problem," Dad says. "Have a nice day."
He smiles.

"Dad, can I stay with Nik for a bit?" I ask.
"Sure, just make sure to text me if you're travelling anywhere."
I nod.
"Thank you!"

Dad walks away, and I go into Nik's house.
The triplets all congregate at their kitchen counter, eating like hungry wolves.
Nik chuckles, and I pick up tiny Genya, putting her on my shoulders.
