Chapter 16
Ari's POV

We are all half-bloods today

A/N: KOTLC spoilers past book 5 (Lodestar) mentioned in the passage.
TW: Blood in the photo above^. Along with some LARP'ing in the park.

We all reach Country park after hiking through the old Battleground Park.

The lake is gigantic, the forest filled with luscious trees and animals skittering around.
There's a zip-line across the lake, with children's playgrounds and the Science centre behind it.

"Whoa," We all mutter.

"This place is beautiful," Tate says.
Kendall nods in response.

He nocks an arrow along with Diana. 
They look cool.

We all hold up our weapons and get into our different factions.
We look like nerds.

"This is exciting!" Tate squeals, her wings flapping back and forth.
How she did that, I have no clue.

I nod.
I draw my Stygian Iron sword and we all head up to an outcropping.
Nik and I clash our dark weapons against each other, looking like real demigods, instead of LARP'ers.

"You fight well," Nik pants, and I parry his khopesh from scraping against my ribs and the black shirt covering it.

I watch as Kendall and Quinn start to fight Tate and Hazel, which sounds pretty stupid to me because they were residents of Hotel Valhalla, who were already dead.
Kendall has his arrows knocked, but I catch him humming a song by Maroon 5.
Quinn is busy using a shield while leaping and kicking at xyr friend's legs, using hand to hand combat.

Tate is holding her own against Quinn, with a golden dagger.
Her tiny body makes it easier for her to move and protect herself.
Meanwhile, Hazel is deflecting arrows with his spear. 

"Come on!" Rayssa says to Jonas, who was back to back against each other.
She holds her bronze dagger out, and he is blocking the attacks of Ian's trident with his staff.

Diana is firing arrows at Kendall along with Rayssa and Jonas.

We all continue to battle until we're exhausted, somewhat injured, and drawing attention from the mortals.
Nik calls that the Greeks win, and Kendall hugs Quinn.

"Woo-hoo!" Xe scream. "Take that you other pantheons!"

The rest of the group laughs along.
I walk over and steal Kendall's medical kit.

Nik, Tate, and Ian come over and the four of us take turns cleaning scratches, bandaging up and making the noticeable bruises go away.

Nik puts a disinfectant on my forehead where he cut me with his khopesh, and I wince, cussing like a sailor.
"Owwww."

Kendall's head pops up in my peripheral, looking worried.

"Sorry," Nik mutters.
He bandages up my cut and goes over to help anyone else.

I stand, sheathing my sword and pulling my hair into a ponytail.
Kendall walks over to me and I freeze up.

I grab Diana's arm and follow her away from him, starting a conversation about moonwater.
"You are in deep," Diana mutters as all of us head down to the dock and zip-line area.

I am in line to get swan boat rides for the group.

Our plan is to push Jonas and Tate over and they have some alone time in a boat.
Quinn and Rayssa are going in one too since they're the only couple in the now larger friend group.
