Jungkook loved walking.
Though he is used to travelling to work by the metro, just so that he reaches on time. But on all other occasions, he preferred reaching by foot for some reason. Currently, he was not tight on money, but he recalls opening a savings account to collect enough to buy himself a Tesla sooner or later.
Jungkook, just as much as everyone else, was not a big fan of having to work, especially since he'd to give up his dream because of it. He remembers Yoongi tell him to not give up; and now, to take a little break from work for his own well-being. But Jungkook needed the money, knowing very well that he'd be needing to pay his loan back in full amount. His grandmother had kept from him the vision problems she'd been facing since long, shrugging it off as a gift of old age. But it was more serious than what they thought when the family decided to pay the doctor's a visit, and he decided to take the loan not too many months back and thus, her surgery was successfully completed. Nonetheless, he voiced out his will to repay the sanctioned loan in small amounts.
So, Jungkook's been trying to thin out expenses ever since.
When Jungkook passes by the apartment complex on Hongji-dong, he feels the familiar twist and churn in his stomach, burning his throat. Why does everything have to be so cruel to him?
Han-yeong, his dear old ex; this was where he and his boyfriend used to stay when they were passing through the live-in stage. The apartment was one of the many Han-yeong's dad had owned, out of the chains he'd built in and around Seoul. And they, Han-yeong's parents, were not very approving of his relationship with Jungkook.
Not like Jungkook was approving either.
They believed Jungkook had nothing to provide; they were traditional people Jungkook did not seem to like the idea of. Jungkook was from a middle-class background, an omega who was nothing like their expectations; was neither willing to remain a homemaker the rest of his life nor a pup-bearer like they wished for him to be.
Jungkook was ambitious, he wanted to touch his dreams and nothing else. He wanted to be a renowned pianist, just like Yoongi. He was quiet, but courageous on the inside, and strongly believed in wanting to earn for himself rather than rely on Han-yeong's riches. He voiced out when it's necessary, and knew to stand up for himself instead of cowering behind his alpha (which drastically changed over the years). He loved dark and baggy apparels, was a child prodigy when he was younger as well as a champion basketball player.
Albeit being an introvert, that did not stop him from debating, participating and auditioning for various debate clubs all through middle and high school. He adored going to the gym, not because of his will and want to break the omega stereotypes, but on the contrary, because he loved to do so.
He was everything an alpha like Han-yeong would never wish for.
