Absolutely Nothing

After saving Jayce from Suicide, Viktor and him became very good partners. They would do anything and everything together: Work on hextech, the hexcore, and all of the other science-y stuff everybody was fussing about.

"Jayce?" Viktor entered their lab quietly, and saw Jayce standing near the chalkboard, writing down some ideas for the Hex Gadgets they'd been working on.

"Viktor! What's the plan for today?" Jayce set the chalk down on the little ledge and turned around, crossing his arms.

"Plan? What's there to plan?" Viktor raised an eyebrow and walked over to where Jayce was standing, merely glancing over his new ideas.

"We don't have anything to do today. I'd suppose we should do something that doesn't have to do with Science and the Hexcore. That's all we've been doing these past few weeks." Jayce relaxed his shoulders and let out a breath.

"Right." Viktor nodded, narrowing his eyes at the equations that Jayce had been working on. "I was thinking of visiting a friend. He could possibly, you know, help with something." Viktor shrugged his shoulders, creeping his eyes off of the board and onto the workspace.

"Great! Can your friend help with the hexcore?" Jayce walked over to the workspace as Viktor was looking at it.

"Err... not so sure about that. Maybe?" Viktor turned around and headed for the door. "I- I'll let you know." He then went out the doorway and exited the building, heading for his secret spot as a child.

Singed had helped him understand many things. Idioms and meanings of life: Equations and scientific matter. Singed grew him into what he was today.

However, when Singed decided to intoxicate Rio with (What I think is) Shimmer, it gave Viktor a sense of betrayal. He would've never imagined seeing his best friend, Rio, look like that under the effect of Shimmer.

When he had reached the "secret spot", he made sure to carefully cross the stepping stones across the small body of water that separated the work area from the entrance. Making sure to not make much noise to adhere to his presence, he got across and looked around.

"Not much is different, I guess." He whispered to himself, feeling the rocks and the door of the office where Singed, hopefully, would be.

He opened the door, and the first words that came out of his mouth were: "I understand now."

A few hours after the visit at Singeds, there was a massive blockade at the bridge to cross over into Piltover.

Viktor let out many coughs due to all of the dust in the air as he held onto his cane tightly. He'd made sure to hide the Shimmer as best as he could so none of the Enforcers (or Jayce) would see it.

He saw Jayce walking over to him, and quickly put his cane aside. He opened his mouth to speak to Jayce;

"Jayce! What is this?!" He questioned the man who looked frustrated and annoyed. He had just been talking to an Enforcer, most likely Marcus, about what was going on at the moment.

"Do you have any idea how this looks?" Jayce looked around cautiously before he gave Viktor a deadpanned look. "I order a blockade and my own partner violates it?!"

Confused and wanting to know more, Viktor looked up at Jayce seriously.

"You?" He began, "Ordered this? Why?" He said, exasperated at the newfound information, Out of anyone in the council, he least expected JAYCE to order a blockade.

"There are people down there who seem HELLBENT on DESTROYING US!" Jayce pushed out through his gritted teeth, looking Viktor in the eyes. "What were you doing?!" Jayce semt like he had almost forgotten what Viktor had informed him about merely hours ago.

"I already told you!" Viktor remarked. "I was consulting a friend about our quandary!" His accent was heavy when he finished off his declaration, but he still looked at Jayce with a soft stare. "I told you, I knew someone."

"Well you didn't say they were from the UNDERCITY!" Viktor was absolutely astonished at that. Jayce? Complaining about him talking to a friend of his own kind? Crazy.

"What difference does that make?" Viktor innocently vocalized, looking down at his shoes, which were just barely resting on the ground of the bridge.

"What dif..." Jayce held a fist up as if he were getting charged up, but he knew better. "THEY'RE DANGEROUS!" He whisper-yelled at Viktor in order to not gain traction to the private conversation.

"I'M from the Undercity." Viktor used his cane to stand up and pushed away Jayce when he tried to stop Viktor.

"Yeah, whatever. You should've told me they were from the Undercity. You have no idea what stress this is causing me right now." Jayce rolled his eyes and walked in the opposite way, but Viktor stopped walking and turned around, full of hatred and distaste for what Jayce just said.

"Stress?! Jayce..." Viktor was going to start tearing up. Did Jayce really forget almost everything that happened barely a few weeks ago? "Jayce... I'm dying! How come you care more about who I'm talking to rather than me myself as a whole?" Viktors voice broke off, he never expected to stand up to Jayce this way before. Not in their almost 10 years of working together as partners (AND FRIENDS).

Viktor couldn't bear looking Jayce in the eye, so he turned around and began to walk quickly over into Piltover.

"Viktor!" Jayce called for him, but Viktor didn't hear. It was likely that even if Viktor did hear him, he wouldn't turn around.

"Ugh... This always happens." Jayce threw his hands in the air out of anger and turned to look at the Enforcers which were just standing behind him. "Well?! Does it look like I'm in any shitty sort of danger? Do your damn job!" He began to run to the lab, where he figured Viktor would be.

Viktor was sitting in a corner in the lab, angrily looking at the ideas on the chalkboard that were written down before he left. He had the (feminine) urge to erase it completely and write shit about Jayce and the council. He absolutely HATED Mel Medarda since he'd started working with Heimerdinger, it was obviously her that had made Jayce go against the Undercity.

He dropped his cane, tired of holding it, and completely forgot about the Shimmer. At this point, he didn't care if Jayce saw it, or if it broke, or if it got in the hands of someone who wouldn't have it. He didn't care about anything at the moment.

He vaguely remembered calling himself a Poor Cripple from the Undercity when he had begun his partnership with Jayce. He had just saved him from Suicide and gave him back his bracelet.

Jayce had nothing to say at that before, but oh boy, he had so much to say about it now.

"Viktor?!" He heard someone calling through the halls leading up to the lab. He quickly grabbed his cane and went to lock the door, but just as he was about to do that, it flew open in front of him and caused him to stumble backwards slightly.

"Jayce?!" He exclaimed, spiralling into a coughing fit for a few seconds. "You're the last person I want to see right now... Go away..." He looked away from Jayce, disappointed.

"I don't care, I want to apologize either way." Jayce sighed, eyeing Viktors cane suspiciously. "Hey, what's that?" He saw a bright purple light coming from a tube in Viktors palm.

"It's nothing." Viktor shook it off. "Absolutely nothing."
