EXCUSE THE MISTAKES

Keisha sat on her bed fighting back tears. This nigga really had the nerve to pull this shit again. She thought back to all the times they went back and forth. Yes, she had her share of men but Rico was always her soft spot. The one man she would end up with. With Jaz out of the way, she thought her place was solidified in his life. Even though toxicity weighed out their affections sometimes, they loved each other. Or at least she thought they did. A single tear fell down her cheek as he pulled out her phone to dial up her cousin.

Brisha answered on the first ring and Keisha wasted no time. "This is why I never let niggas in! They always fuck me over!" She yelled into the phone.

"Keisha. What the hell are you talking about?" Brisha asked.

"Rico! I know that nigga got another bitch!" She yelled.

"Calm down," Brisha said.

"Hell naw. I'm finna pull up and follow his ass. Are you down or not?" Keisha asked as she stood and put her curls in a bun. She grabbed her keys and walked out her apartment door.

"Cousin, just come over. We can talk about it. You know how you get. It sounds like you're overreacting," Brisha tried to reason with her but she knew how hot-headed her cousin was. It was hard to get her to listen to anything when she's already riled up.

"I'm on my way," Keisha said and hung up the phone.

With a heavy rage filled heart Kiesha got into her cherry red challenger. A fresh set of tears flowed down her cheeks, not from being hurt but from letting her guard down. This aint me. That nigga got me fucked up. Keisha said to herself as she wiped the tears. She started the car and took off down the road. She made it to her cousin's house in under ten minutes. Keisha got out of the car and rushed to knock on the door. Barging in, she didn't bother greeting her cousin Rodney and went straight to Brisha's room.

"Damn bitch you good?" Keisha asked when she noticed that her cousin had been crying. "We both can't be in our feelings,"

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," Brisha assured her. She wiped her face and gave her cousin a fake smile.

"Girl, what nigga got you doing this? Bitch I aint even know you were in love," Keisha questioned.

"It's nothing. I'm good. What's up with you and Rico?" Brisha asked, changing the subject.

Keisha didn't push anymore because she was ready to get to her own issues. She sat on the bed and immediately a pit formed in her stomach when a familiar smell hit her nose. She knew that from scent anywhere. It smells exactly like the Marc Jacobs cologne she bought for Rico.

That instantly piqued her interest and her antennas went up. She secretly searched around the room with her eyes for anything that belonged to Rico. Even though that cologne could be anybody's Keisha didn't put anything past her cousin.

"Cuz?" Brisha said, knocking her cousin out of the trance. "What's up with you and Rico? You were all hype over the phone. You were just saying last week how he was becoming the perfect boyfriend,"

"I know a snake when I see one," Keisha replied as she cut her eyes. The energy shifted in the room and Brisha felt the coldness from her cousin.

"Shit I told you he was no good from the beginning. But you never listen to me," Brisha said with a shrug. She held a pillow in her lap and hugged it like she was a toddler. "Don't worry about him though. You could have anybody you want,"

"Yeah. I know," Keisha said. The urge to talk about her problems went away and all she wanted to do was get out of there before she did something that she would regret. She grabbed her keys and got ready to stand up.

"Where are you going? Don't tell me you really wanna pull up on that man,"

"My man," Keisha said coldly with a blank expression. It took everything in her to not strangle Brisha right then and there.

She stood and grabbed her keys. Just as she was on her way out she noticed something shining off of the edge of the dresser. She couldn't believe her eyes when she spotted the R-shaped diamond studded earring. There was no doubt in her mind now that Brisha had been fucking her man.

Keisha discreetly swiped the earring from the dresser and left the room. She gripped the earring in her hand as she speed-walked out of the house.

When she made it to the car she wasted no time getting the hell off of that street before she did something she'd regret.

Keisha made it home with a shattered heart. Never in her life has she felt this way. The betrayal from her cousin. Her own flesh and blood hurt far worse than anything Rico could do.

She sat on the edge of her bed with the earring in her hand. The tears flowed down her cheeks and she couldn't stop the emotions. She thought of different ways she would make them feel the way she felt.

Keisha stood and walked over to her vanity dresser. She looked at her disheveled appearance and it caused even more rage. Puffy red eyes weren't something she was used to. Keisha wiped her tears and an evil smile crept on her face.

"They fucked with the wrong bitch," Keisha said aloud as she stared at herself maliciously. She wanted to reign hell on both of them but she knew that would be too reckless. Keisha decided to play it cool until she came up with the perfect plan for revenge. She sat down the earring on the edge of her dresser, in clear view so Rico could find it. Keisha walked out of the room with the murder on her mind. Karma was a bitch and her name might as well have been Cherry.
