EXCUSE THE MISTAKES

Sitting poolside with mango mimosas in hand, Jaz, Shayla, and Luna soaked in the sun's rays. It was high noon and not too many people were out. The few that were had their eyes glued to the girls like they were celebrities. All smiles, giggles, and good energy.

"So how's everything with Ky?" Shayla asked.

Jaz gripped the thin wine glass in her hand. She looked over at her cousin as she sipped her fruity drink and debated on bringing up what was on her chest. "I don't know to be honest.

He's been spending too many nights at the studio even though the album dropped about a month ago. He just left for another mini tour and his manager insisted that he went alone." Jaz sat up in the pool chair and a serious look came over her face. "What if it's another bitch."

Luna stopped scrolling on her phone and looked up at Jaz. "That's lame bitch thinking," Luna said.

"Bitch?" Jaz gasped.

"Yeah, you're a bad bitch. This man bought you a bomb ass condo and he put that shit in your name. He makes sure the bills are paid and you don't even have to work if you don't want to" Luna said as she took a sip of her drink. "If it's another bitch you obviously know where your place is. Dudes like him don't do shit like this for a hoe," she said with a shrug.

Shayla rolled her eyes and turned her attention to her cousin. "Kylo is an artist and one of the hottest out right now. You know how that shit can get. Like Luna said and I hate to admit but niggas don't do shit like this for a hoe. He loves you."

"You're right," Jaz sighed and downed the rest of her mimosa. "I just miss him and he won't be back for a few more days," she whined.

"Anyway, fuck all them crybaby feelings mami," Luna demanded. "It's getting a little too crowded out here," she said, referring to the small group of kids that came to the pool.

The last thing they wanted was angry parents complaining about their bathing suits being too skimpy, so they left the pool. Stopping on the second floor to get a smoothie; Jaz admired the expensive decor of the hallways. Being in the projects all of her life, she wasn't used to the luxury around her 24/7. Maybe they're right. How can there be another bitch if he's doing all of this for me?  She thought to herself.

***

"I think I'm gonna give Kylo a call. I'll be right back," Jaz said as she left Shayla and Luna at the kitchen island.

It's been a few hours since she and Kylo spoke. It was unlike him to go that long without communication but she figured he was busy. Jaz walked into her bedroom and sat on his side of the bed. Unlocking her phone, she dialed his number. When Kylo's face popped up on her screen Jaz couldn't help but smile. "Hey, baby. How's Atlanta?" she asked.

"Wassup beautiful, I'm just finishing up a meeting about to get some lunch," Kylo replied. She didn't see anyone in the background but their voices were loud. She could've sworn she heard several females.

"What you got going on?" he asked.

"Nothing much. Missing you like crazy. You sure you can't come home sooner?" Jaz replied.

"I'm sorry baby. I've got a couple of things to handle and I promise I'll be home in the next couple of days."

Jaz made a pouty face and puppy dog eyes. "It feels like it's been a month and It's only been a week. I hate sleeping alone," She whined. Jaz lay back on the bed and held the phone up to show her body. Still in her bikini, she posed to show her man what he was missing.
