chapter six - "hospital"
☼The nurse had told the teens that it would be best to take Liam to the hospital, which was now their current destination. The ride there was shorter than usual, mostly because Stiles was driving quicker.
"Stiles listen, you can speed. Dad will bail you out of it and then it just adds on to the list of tickets," Angelina had reminded him during the first few seconds of the drive, thinking he was going to slow.
"Okay, we are here," Scott said, jumping out of the jeep.
"No shit, Scotty, I can see that," Angelina said sarcastically. "Come on, Liam," She urged, throwing one of his arms around her shoulder, and the other went around Stiles'.
"Go get a wheelchair," Stiles said as they walked behind him.
Once we got inside they all stood at the counter waiting. "Momma McCall, so nice to see you," Angelina chimed, smiling at Scotts mom.
"Uh, hi mom," Scott sighed and Stiles waved.
She rolled her eyes and grabbed a wheelchair, Angelina helped set Liam down and then stood beside Stiles. "Liam, I'll come see you in a few minutes," She promised, noticing the painful look he had.
"Don't worry, Liam. We'll take good care of you," Melissa said, pushing him away.
"All right, I gotta get going, I promised Malia I'd help her study." Stiles said in a lower voice.
"You guys are acting like you killed the poor boy, it's just his leg. It'll heal within a few months," Angelina said, kissing Stiles' cheek and then Scotts. "I'll see you guys later," She said, walking towards Liam's room.
"You want to tell me what happened?"
Angelina stopped at the doorway and stood against the wall.
"I was trying to impress this girl, I went up against two juniors. One of them was captain of the team."
She looked over at Scott, who had just joined her and frowned. "I'll talk to him, don't worry."
The doctor walked out and looked at the girl for a second then smiled, "Angelina, right?" He asked, the girl giving a slight nod, she had probably seen him around with the amount of times she'd been at this hospital. "Good to see you," Dr. Geyer said, walking back towards the elevator.
"Let me talk to him first, Scott. I'll make it easier for you," Angelina said, and then walked inside the room. "Hey, Liam," She gave him a kind smile.
"I can't believe I tried going against them," He mumbled.
She walked over and sat beside him on the bed, placing a comforting hand on his arm. "Sometimes things happen, but now you know how serious Scott is about his spot," She joked. "He does feel really bad, so in other words, you both are blaming yourselves for it."
Liam smiled at her and looked down. Angelina smiled too but looked up when she heard Scott roar. "Liam, stay here, not that you can go anywhere. But don't leave," She said, standing up and running out of the room.
When she found Scott, he was leaning against the wall talking to his mom. "What happened? I heard you roar," Angie said, running over to them.
"We have to find Sean," Scott said, pulling her with him.
Together, they ran through the halls. Following the scent of blood, until they got to the staircase leading towards the roof.
Angelina came to a halt. "Liam." She whispered to Scott. "I can hear his heartbeat."
"Stay here, don't go up there," Scott replied, running up the stairs.
For once the young beta listened. And for once she was showing how afraid she was. Her nails dug into her skin, breaking through and letting blood replace its spot. But then she heard the sound of shouts, lots of them.
Angelina ran up the stairs, deciding not to listen to Scott anymore. She swung the door open to see something she's never seen before. Scott was leaning over the edge, and a guy with razor sharp teeth getting impaled by another guy with no mouth.
But no Liam.
"Liam!" She shouted running past the two random people and reaching the ledge. She grabbed ahold of Liam's other arm and lifted him up.
"Angelina," He whimpered grabbing onto her. The teen girl helped him over to a gate so he could sit down.
"Listen, this is going to be confusing, but I will be by your side and help you, okay?" She asked. He simply nodded, not really listening to what she was saying.
Angelina placed a hand on his arm again and watched as her veins turned black. "What are you doing?" Liam asked, pulling his arm away.
"I'm taking your pain," She replied with a sad look. Knowing that he was running off of adrenaline right now, from personal experience, she continued to take his pain.
When his adrenaline wore off, and Scott came back, Liam was losing consciousness. "Scott," Angelina spoke up, gaining his attention. "What do we do?"
