The next day (Y/n) woke at around 4:00 am and got his clothes on, got his sword, and made sure he had enough kunai and shuriken. Kakashi did say that this was a survival test so, you never know what to expect. He also made lunch for later depending on how long they would be there The sun was still trying to rise when (Y/n) arrived seeing he was the first one there. "Guess I get to sleep a bit longer." (Y/n) said setting his bag down and resting his head before falling asleep.
"You're late!" Naruto and Sakura yelled in unison. (Y/n) woke up and saw everyone surrounding him. "Sorry guys. A... black cat crossed my path." Kakashi said pulling out a clock and setting it down. "You guys will have until noon to get these." Kakashi pulled out three bells and dangled them.
"But sensei, there's only there are only three bells for four of us," Sakura complained to Kakashi who smiled under his mask. "It's simple. Whoever can get a bell by noon passes. The one who can't get a bell will be sent back to the academy. You're free to use shuriken or any ninja tools you need. And make sure you come at me with killing intent"
"This is gonna be easy!" Naruto yelled out. "Oh really. Class clowns are normally the weakest link. They're nothing but losers." Kakashi told Naruto bluntly. The words rang throughout Naruto's head. Pulling out a kunai Naruto ran towards Kakashi who in the blink of an eye Kakashi had the kunai pointed to the back of Naruto's head.
"I didn't say go yet. But, I appreciate the effort, you came at me with killing intent. You know what? I'm starting to like you guys." Kaashi said in a more positive tone. "Now... start!"
Sasuke, Sakura, and (Y/n) dashed into the woods while Naruto stayed in the open and challenged Kakashi.
What does he think he's doing, (Y/n) asked himself looking at Kakashi shove his fingers up Naruto's butt. After trapping Naruto in a tree Sasuke threw several shuriken at Kakashi who turned into a log.
He's good but that book he was reading earlier what was it called again? Make-Out-Paradise I think? I read it one time while I was in the library. He's not even halfway done with it either. I know how to get one of the bells, (Y/n) thought to himself.
(Y/n) stopped hiding his chakra so Kakashi was easily able to tell where he was now. Then (Y/n) dashed out into the open and just like he thought not even a second later Kakashi was right behind him.
"A ninja should never just give away their hiding position," Kakashi said. (Y/n) turned around with an evil smirk on his face. "Shadow-Clone jutsu!" (Y/n) yelled creating 15 clones of himself. They all smiled at Kakashi instead of rushing him.
What's he planning, Kakashi thought to himself raising an eyebrow. Every clone of (Y/n) cleared their throat and said, "At the end of Make-Out-Paradise, the main character get..." Kakashi covered his ears and closed his eyes. Now's my chance, (Y/n) thought while running at Kakashi. "Got it!" (Y/n) yelled in the air only to feel himself grabbing onto a rock seconds later.
"So, I see that you're a man of culture too," Kakashi said with a smirk on his face. (Y/n) rushed at Kakashi and threw several shuriken at him which were easily dodged. Pulling out his sword (Y/n) slashed at Kakashi several times nearly getting the bells court off.
He's better than I expected, Kakashi thought to himself putting his book away getting semi-serious. Kakashi disarmed (Y/n) of his sword thinking that was going to be the end of it. "Never let the enemy get a hold of your weapon. But, I'm sure you already knew that." Kakashi told (Y/n).
(Y/n) didn't let up as he rushed Kakashi and threw a surprisingly slow punch. With nearly zero effort Kakashi caught the punch making (Y/n) smile. This worked out better than I expected, (Y/n) thought not being able to hold back a smirk. (Y/n) began to absorb Kakashi's chakra making him kneel.
Damn. The ability to absorb chakra, Kakashi thought to himself as he pushed (Y/n). The second (Y/n) tried to rush at Kakashi again the timer rang signaling that the test was over.
(Y/n), Sasuke and Sakura sat on the ground with their lunches in front of them while Naruto was tied to a wooden pillar. All their stomachs growled just at the thought of getting to eat. "I see you guys are hungry. Well, I've decided not to send any of you back to the academy." Kakashi told them.
"Does this mean we passed?" Naruto asked happily. Sakura got up and celebrated while Sasuke sat on the floor smirking. "Yes. All of you are being dropped taken out of the ninja academy permanently!"
"What! You said if we failed we'd be sent back to the academy. Now you're saying you won't even do that! How are we going to become ninja then?!" Naruto yelled out to Kakashi. "You're never going to become a ninja. That's because you don't think like a ninja, you think like brats."
Sasuke pulled out a kunai and changed Kakashi. In the end, like expected Sasuke was on the floor with Kakashi sitting on him like a chair. "You think it's all about you," Kakashi told them. "How dare you do that to Sasuke. You can't just sit on him like that!" Sakura protested.
"You don't know what it means to be a ninja. You think it's just a game, don't you? Why do you think we put you guys in teams, huh? Did you ever once consider why? I mean, you never realized what this exercise was all about?"
"Kakashi-sensei. I think I know what you're getting at. What you meant for us to do from the beginning was use teamwork, right?" (Y/n) asked Kakashi. "At least one of you got it. Yes, all you needed to do was use teamwork. Maybe if you did that you would have passed. Well, it's over now."
"Wait, so that means you also purposefully only got two bells so that there would be conflict within the team." Sakura pointed out. "Yes. I purposefully pitted you against each other. I wanted to see if you could overcome that and put the team before yourself. A Genin should have a natural feel for teamwork. But, you were too focused on yourself to even see that."
For the next several minutes Kakashi continued to lecture Team Seven about everything they did wrong and how they need to use teamwork more or they'll be killed in a ream mission.
"Eat lunch now to build up strength for later. But, Naruto doesn't get to eat any. It's punishment for earlier."
The three began to eat lunch while Naruto was tied to the pole. As Naruto's stomach growled (Y/n) looked at him then at his food.
"Here." (Y/n) said trying to give Naruto some food. 'What are you doing (Y/n)? Kakashi said not to give Naruto any food." Sakura said looking at (Y/n) like he was crazy. "No, he's right Sakura. Naruto won't be of any use if he's hungry like this." Sasuke told her and without a second thought, Sakura offer Naruto her food too.
"Gee, thanks guys but my hands are tied and you're gonna have to feed me," Naruto said making them sigh and one by one feed Naruto like a mother and baby. Suddenly a large smoke cloud appears from behind all of them. "I deliberately told you guys NOT to feed Naruto and look at what you did!" Kakashi said yelling at them. They were all speechless. "YOU................. pass."
"How you said that..."
"A ninja must see through perception. And that's exactly what you did. In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum. That's true. But, those who abandon their friends are worse than scum."
Kakashi-sensei's cooler than I thought, (Y/n) thought to himself while wiping some tears from his eyes. "Everyone passes. Team Seven starts their first official mission tomorrow!"

Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, and (Y/n) all walked off into the sunset even though it's still noon while leaving Naruto behind.
