Chapter 21: Stage Three Of The Exams

This part is longer than usual so... that's your warning.

(Y/n) grunted as he opened his eyes. The sun rising in the distance, but just enough sun to shine in his eyes.

"W-Where am I?" he asked his voice raspy.

"You're finally awake!" Naruto said with excitement. He reached into his pouch and pulled out a Heaven scroll. "Look at what we got!"

(Y/n)'s eyes widened.

"Jeez, how long was I out?" (Y/n) asked.

"Two days," Sasuke replied. "Now, let's hurry up before we're late."

Team 7 walked to the tower finding a door that had Konohagakure's Team 7 written on the door. Once opening it there was only a large wall with writing written over it.

Hmmm, this is simple. It's just saying to open both scrolls at the same time.

"Let me see the Earth Scroll." (Y/n) said. Sakura slowly handed (Y/n) the scroll as Naruto had out the other scroll. "What the thing says is we gotta open the scrolls at the same time."

"Are you sure?" Naruto asked.

"Of course. Now, 3...2...1... now!"

In unison (Y/n) and Naruto opened the scrolls as smoke filled the entire room. They both dropped the scrolls and jumped back.

"You guys..." a voice said. "Did an amazing!" as the smoke cleared the man talking was revealed to be Iruka.

"Iruka-sensei?" (Y/n) and Naruto said in unison.

"It's good to see you all. And you made it just on time too." a timer went off around the entire Forest of Death. 

"Why're you here, Iruka-sensei?" Sakura asked.

"Well, I'm here to tell you that..." Iruka cleared his throat. "Konohagakure's Team 7. Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and (Y/n) (L/n). You have all passed the second stage of the Chunin exams."

(Y/n), Naruto and Sakura had huge smiles on their face. Sasuke meanwhile, only had a small smirk on his face.

"How about I take you all out for some ramen!" Naruto and (Y/n) jumped into the air begging for him to take them to Ichiraku. "As for the next stage, since there are so many contestants left they'll have your sensei tell you tomorrow."

Team 7 was escorted back to the village by Iruka for them to get some rest and eat. Sakura was forced to go home since her parents were worried sick about her. Sasuke didn't want to waste time with people like Naruto and (Y/n).

"It feels like it's been forever since I had actual food!" Naruto said finishing off his third bowl of ramen.

"I got tired of eating bugs and plants." (Y/n) finished his fifth bowl of ramen as Iruka watched his pockets getting lighter and lighter by the second.

Regardless, Iruka watched on with a smile. He thought back to a time when Naruto was in class with (Y/n). Complete opposites. The loud and obnoxious Naruto with the quiet and reclusive (Y/n).

Iruka watched on out of the window of the academy. (Y/n) was on the track running lap after lap until the brink of fainting. Iruka smiled and walked down to where (Y/n) was watching from a distance.

"What are you still doing out here, (Y/n)?" Iruka asked. (Y/n) stopped in his tracks with sweat pouring down his face.

"I'm training." (Y/n) replied quietly.

"Oh? But, it's getting late." Iruka said pointing to the sky. The sun was setting in the distance something (Y/n) didn't realize.

"Sorry about that. I'll leave now." (Y/n) slowly walked in the opposite direction of Iruka his head facing the ground the whole time.
