Chapter 6: Set Your Heart Ablaze (END)

You tried to keep your face straight but your mouth and eyebrows were too hard for you to stop shaking. Your hand shakingly gripped the hilt as you prepared yourself to pull it out.

"Rengoku-san... Rengoku-san!" Tanjiro chanted as his eyes turned blurred briefly. "Rengoku-san!"

Akaza's eyes narrowed as he spoke to Kyojuro. "Even if you fight to the death, you can't swim, Kyojuro. Those impressive slashes you inflicted on me have already healed completely." His hand was placed on his chest as the wound across his body regenerated. "But what about you? A smashed left eye, shattered ribs, and damaged internal organs... All irreparable. If you were a demon, you'd heal in the blink of an eye. Those would be mere scratches for a demon. You can struggle all you want, but a human can never beat a demon."

You saw Tanjiro smash his hand as he tried to put himself up. "Wait, wait, Tanjiro! What are you doing?! You have to rest!" You wrapped your arms around his back and his chest while he gripped your right arm at his front.

Tanjiro only groaned in response as he looked at the duo before his head leaned to your chest. "I want to go help him! But there's no strength in my arms or legs. It always happens after I use the Hinokami Kagura technique!" Tanjiro pushed himself away from you as you looked at him in worry.

Kyojuro stopped panting momentarily before a fire blazed over his body, which Akaza could sense. "Kyojuro, why..."

"I..." His foot moved to the back along with his sword, performing a high stance. "I will fulfill my duty! I will not allow anyone here to die or be taken!"

"I'll damage his body as much as I can in an instant! Flame Breathing... Esoteric Art!" The flame blasted out from his spot and Akaza could sense his blazing spirit instantly.

"What a tremendous fighting spirit! Amazing aura despite all those injuries!" He grew a wide grin as he was happy to witness it with his own eyes. "That mental strength! That airtight stance!" He chuckled lightly as he declared to himself. "You have to become a demon, after all, Kyojuro! Let's fight each other for all eternity!"

"Set your heart ablaze." The fire ignited from his heart before it went through to his hands. "Go beyond your limits! I'm the Flame Hashira..."

"Kyojuro Rengoku! Ninth Form... Rengoku!"

"Destructive Death... Annihilation Type!" Akaza crouched with both his arms at the side of his body poised to strike. Kyojuro dashed at extreme speed with the flame trailing behind him, forming into a flaming dragon that enveloped him.

Akaza dashed as he lunged forward, creating two powerful circular shockwaves from the palm of his hands. The attacks from both sides were so intense and powerful that they exploded the area, blocking all of the views from the battle.

"RENGOKU-SAN!" Tanjiro yelled as the smoke blew harshly, shielding the views of Kyojuro and Akaza. "Rengoku-san! Rengoku-san!"

"(Y/N), do you see hi—" Tanjiro gasped as he didn't see you beside him and Inosuke anymore. "(Y/N)?! (Y/N)!"

"(Mispronounced Name)!" Inosuke shouted as he also didn't see you with them. He turned his head left and right in a panic.

Tanjiro looked back at the scene as the smoke became clearer and could see Kyojuro from it. "Ren... goku.."
