Pierre Duchemin let the calm return and spoke again."All those who have tried to set up a system that would appeal to values that the population neither possesses nor understands have failed. They have failed because they have forgotten that in order to set up such a system, they had no choice but to rely on this same population. Our history is rich in humanist systems that really aimed at the well-being of the greatest number. In the absence of common values with their population, these systems were implemented by force or pressure, resulting in the excesses we know as dictatorships, repressions and secret police.More than 50 years ago when Winston Churchill said "democracy is the worst system, but we haven't found a better one" he understood that the alignment between a system and the sharing of its values by the majority of its population was the main key to its success. Over the millennia, humanity has evolved by successively inventing each of the 8 stages that have brought us to where we are today. From childhood to adulthood, each of us will go through the first stages one by one until we stabilise, most often at the dominant level in our culture.Today, less than 10% of the population has reached one of the last three stages of community vision, complexity and wisdom This means that the implementation of a system that would appeal to these values is a utopia. However, two years ago, the tsunami of revelations from the Davos summit shook the ethical and economic foundations of the planet.Since then, every listed company, most organisations, states and governments have changed their governance and appointed a director of consciousness from one of the last 3 stages of evolution. In doing so, these organisations have moved towards a virtuous system where the general interest and long-term impact take precedence over old values. For such a system to be sustainable, its values must also be carried by the people. That is to say, by the individual elevation of all those who will be called upon to pronounce themselves in favour of it and to participate in its implementation.Where and how will these organisations, these governments, these companies find these nuggets with both the necessary skills to carry out their mission and the emotional sensitivity and intelligence that the last three stages of evolution require? Two years ago I shared this question with Alexia Bradley, President of WesMart©, and we concluded that we should create centres and training programmes to raise the levels of consciousness of as many people as possible. You are here in one of those training centres. This is why you are here. You are the ones through whom change is coming, the ones who by your ethics, behaviour and vision will raise the collective consciousness to the level where they can collectively and democratically come together around a community vision where performance rhymes with sensitivity, human connection, ecology and ethics. You are the women and men of the new world. A thunderous applause broke the silence of the desert. The congregation rose to its feet and gave a standing ovation to the one through whom change had come, and the one through whom it continues today, in the middle of the desert. When the ovation died down, Peter walked over to one of the students, looked her in the eye for a long time and then invited everyone to do the same with their neighbour and see in her or his eyes the one through whom the change would really happen.A long moment of silence and silent embraces followed. The "white sail" promotion was born.
