It's been so long since I've gone out with a boy, that I forgot how nervous a first date can make me feel. I didn't really have much time before our date to get ready at home, so I decided to bring some suitable clothes to change into after my shift was over in the restroom and fix myself up in the mirror. Jerry noticed my new look when I stepped out and said to me, "Good luck on your date!" That made me smile as I told him, "Thank you." And waved bye at him before finally clocking out for the night.
I stepped out of the diner and looked around to find Remington who was parked around and leaning back on a motorcycle, the sight was more than I could handle. I nervously walked toward him and shyly greeted him, "Hi." His smile grew bigger as he approached me and held out his hands for me to take. I did so and he told me with such intrigue in his eyes, "You look beautiful, Amelie. Then again, you never stop being beautiful. What a shame you've never had anyone praise you for your beauty."
I blushed and turned away in embarrassment, then he placed his hand on my cheek to turn my head back toward him as he said in a soft tone, "Well, that's gonna change starting tonight. Are you ready?" I nodded as he walked back towards his bike but then I felt scared as he handed me a spare helmet, "Wait, you want me to ride on that? I...I don't know..." He reassured me, "You'll be okay, I'll drive steady as long as you hold on tight to me. Trust me."
Somehow, I miraculously did so without hesitation as I took the spare helmet and placed it over my head. As I was attempting to climb onto the bike with him, I felt my stomach flip to feel him so close to me especially after I wrapped my arms around him to hold on tight so I don't fall. He asked me, "You good?", I cleared my throat before answering with, "Ahem, yeah." He then started the ignition and began riding off.
I thought I would be terrified for the entire ride, but as Remington rode through the town at a fast speed but with steadiness, I was blown away by how free I felt and how this almost felt like flying. Safe to say, it was the most thrilling experience of my life.
He ended up stopping near an abandoned building as he let me hop off his bike before he did. I remember this place used to be a large office building a couple of years ago but it was closed after the company moved to a bigger city where it could earn more income. Remington offered his hand for me to take, and as I placed mine in his, he led me inside where he took me all the way up to the roof of the building where it was vacant but it had the most amazing view of the town.
I turned to Remington and asked him, "How did you find this place?" He turned his direction to the view of the town and explained, "When I first got here, I wanted to explore places that looked as lost as I felt. I know everyone might have believed I would be at the motel, but I don't plan on staying here too long and I don't want to interrupt everyone's lives here. I don't even have enough money to stay at a motel anyway so I found this abandoned building where I just hang out at and sleep."
I then asked him, "Why do you feel lost?" He turned back to me and told me, "I guess the same reason you want to leave this town. I didn't feel like I belong where I'm from so I'm trying to find a place where I might find a reason to stay. But even if I choose to spend the rest of my life exploring this world, I don't want to do that all alone." It was at that moment when he started walking closer to me and pulled me into his arms, "I've now realized that, thanks to you."
My tone was shaky as I struggled to respond, "Wh-What do you m-mean, thanks to m-me?" He held my cheek in his hand as he stated, "The first time I saw you, I was wondering why it took me so long to find someone like you. You're beautiful but you're fragile, and I want to be the one to make you realize there's no need for you to be so scared. I want to be with you, Amelie, for as long as I stay here and while you're the only one I think about."
Those beautiful, brown eyes were gazing into mine with such desire that I almost found it hard to breathe. My mind told me it would be smart to deny someone like him who could break my heart after leaving, but my heart was yearning for a caring and passionate soul like his to stay with me and make me feel this way more often like I wanted to. His gentle hold on me was enough to make me give in and say with a smile on my face, "I would like that very much, Remington."
He grinned at my response and I felt glee enter my heart to see his reaction. What I didn't expect was for him to glance at my lips then back to my eyes and I felt my breath leaving my body as he leaned in to close the gap between our lips and give me my first kiss. I stared with wide eyes and was in disbelief of what was happening. God, why did this feel so good? I felt myself give in to him as I lightly kissed him back and wished this moment lasted forever.
When he pulled away, he leaned his forehead onto mine and whisper to me, "I'm so helplessly into you, Amelie. You've invaded my head and heart and I don't intend to leave you feeling like I'm only here to play with you. A special girl like you deserves all my love and attention, and I promise you: You will get every single ounce of it." My head was spinning with how he was making me feel. "Is it okay if I kiss you again?", he asked, I nodded immediately as we leaned into each other for another kiss. This felt like a dream that was too good to be true, but I didn't care while I had this beautiful boy holding me in his arms and loving me like his life depended on it.
