The Sky siblings are a few characters that I've just had waiting in the wings in terms of development. Autumn's had a hearty amount of "screen time", but the others have kind of just been there. That, I decided, would have to change. Going back and checking out some old drawings of Autumn by vivziepop, I recalled that Autumn was originally intended to have some elemental powers (airbending and whatnot). So I thought that adding these abilities to his little aresnal (currently consisting of some mid-sized antlers) would be a great way to add him to the rapidly growing Protector Force. And, of course, his siblings will tag along.
The ideas for this story were as follows: the Sky siblings have powers. Why haven't they used them? Where did they come from? Why do they start to use them? How will they handle using them? And then, after finding out some stuff about their parents, more ideas popped up: Who exactly are Knox and Sol Sky: Where did they come from? What is their purpose as Peacekeepers? Can I give them awesome backstories and, in the process, develop the origin story of the Safe Havens?
Yes. Yes, I can.
All these questions and more will be answered in this book, so I'd suggest you do the usual and "buck"-le up.
...That's a deer joke.
