Shenika's perspective
Being around ricardo was treacherous and I had to take accountability for that .. but I was in a new space, I couldn't turn away a man that made efforts because he wanted to see me, I got tired of making him pay for things that transpired between him and my brother but I weren't a fool neither .. I wanted to give him that chance because his sister spoke up for him, maybe he realky wanted to get to know me for me this time.
I got outside and strapped up gigi in the back and came in front at the passenger seat and he was already caught off guard by her, he was laughing and cooing with her leant over his chair and when he was done he turned back to start driving,
Shenika..- you never told me you liked kids
Ricardo..- I'm not a monster .. I got cousins and nieces and shit
He chuckled and I smiled to myself whilst fastening my seatbelt,
Shenika..- you seem like you're in better spirits .. making money again
He scoffed,
Ricardo..- money don't buy good spirit
He looked out of the window then looked back at me,
Shenika..- not that you care .. I got my own place
Ricardo..- congratulations .. so you're really staying here for real
I nodded,
Ricardo..- you need to make some friends then
Shenika..- if you're talking about bella and rosa

He laughed at me and I shook my head,
Shenika..- don't you miss it sometimes .. home
Ricardo..- you're asking me if I miss madrid?
He chuckled.
Ricardo..- Biarritz aint far from it ..
We eventually got to town and there was this nice little corner with an ice cream parlour, ricardo had held onto gigi and he was helping her customize her ice cream whilst I was behind watching, I eventually got my cone and we sat down out front,
Ricardo..- you never told me you had a child

Ricardo..- you never told me a lot of things
Shenika..- because it was none of your business
..
Shenika..- I don't put her in the forefront of that business either .. I need to protect my daughter
Ricardo..- if you truly felt that way you wouldn't be out here with me
I tilted my head whilst holding my spoon,
Shenika..- I'm here because I wanted to give us a chance to get to know each other again
Ricardo..- I wanna believe you

Ricardo..- believe me I do
He said that whilst wiping the ice cream off of gia's mouth and it made me feel uneasy, so I picked her up and placed her on my lap and he put the napkin down and slowly looked up at me,
