𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 is Amelia Fishers favourite time of year. She adored everything about summer. Late night walks along the beach, the indescribable sunsets, wet wavey beach hair, surfing big waves along side her brothers, collecting seashells with Belly, tying her hair in two messy braids, eating ice cream flavours that shouldn't exist, trying strange fruits, muffin runs, smoothie bars, homemade milkshakes, icey cold drinks, water gun fights, volleyball matches, frozen yougurt, her never ending bucket, hand made jewellery, tanning, thin bed sheets, the first bonfire of the year, the infamous parties, inevitable sunbuns, blasting music loudly, making her annual summer playlist, reading romance novels.
To Amelia there was a million and one reasons why summer was the best time of year. But it all came back to one, Belly. Isabel Conklin, her childhood best friend. Belly and her family had been staying with them every summer for before Amelia was even born. The two had always been close, They were best friends. Belly's brother, Steven, was close with Jeremiah and Conrad, Amelia's brothers. When Belly was younger she was left out of all if the things the others did and she hated it. Not as much as she hated Gabriella Mendoza.
Gabriella Mendoza was the same age as Steven, except she was a couple months older, and she moved to Cousins when she was about ten. And she was the coolest person the Fisher siblings and Steven had ever met. They hadn't stopped talking about her for weeks, the jokes she had made, the stories she had told them, the songs she she has sung, the things she did, which got on Belly's nerves even more. Belly had never met Gabriella, but she had tried picturing her a thousand times from the stories she had been told. But a couple summers ago, she was got in some trouble with her parents and was shipped off to her grandparents, and none of the teens have heard from her since.
Amelia had recently started dating Matthew Clarke, the popular guy at her school, he was funny, smart, athletic and really cute. He was her first boyfriend, her first kiss. She and Matt started dating at a christmas party last December. A lot of people had found out about them within the first month, but she was yet to tell her family. She didn't want them ruining it. Everything was perfect and she wanted it to stay that way. She was going to have the perfect summer.
Gabriella's best friend Mazzy Torres was one of the coolest people any of the Fisher siblings and Steven had ever met. They had spent a lot of summers together. The year Taylor came to stay, she and Belly had gone to the boardwalk and while Belly was in the restroom, Taylor met them. And she agreed they were the coolest people ever.
They all hung out together that week, minus Belly who had spent her time with moms.Mazzy moved in with her uncle the same year Gabi was shipped off to her grandparents.
