Today was a hard one.

Your first Christmas without Rafe.

You and Rafe have been dating for almost 3 years and this year was his year first away at college, your a year younger then him.

Usually students get to leave for a couple weeks for Christmas and stay with there family, but Rafe had football practice and it was mandatory.

You say good night to your parents and walk into your room to get some sleep the night before Christmas Eve, thank god there's a winter break.

You grab a hoodie Rafe left with you from your drawer and you put it over your head leaving the hood on, then you put some shorts on as well.

You get into bed and play your sleep playlist from your tv as you dial Rafes phone number.

"Hello?"

"Hey babe, you good?" He asks.

"Yeah I'm ok, just wanted to hear your voice, I miss you." You respond.

"I miss you more baby, I'll see you soon don't worry. How is it over there?"

"It's ok, not much going on. Schools awful."

"Well it'll all work out because just a couple more months of senior year and you'll be with me!" He says happily making your finally smile.

You already got accepted to the school Rafe is attending, now it's just a waiting game.

"Okay I'm gonna get to sleep, your gift should be arriving tomorrow after noon so just look outside around that time." He says after you guys talk for another half hour.

"Okay, merry Christmas" you say smiling.

"Merry Christmas my love, I love you." He says as he makes a kiss noise into the phone and you do the same.

"I love you more" You say as you hang up.

You just want to see your boyfriend so bad.

You snuggle up in his hoodie and grab a teddy bear he brought you a few years back, you cuddle it and almost immediately fall asleep, sad.

The next morning you wake up at around 12pm.

It's Christmas Eve, Christmas Day is better.

You get up still in your pj's and head to your kitchen to make cereal, nobody in your house is home.

Your brothers slept at there girlfriends and your parents are out shopping for the holiday since they'll be hosting.

You sit at the Island in your kitchen while eating your cereal, and you get a FaceTime call from your boyfriend which makes you smile.

"Hey babe!" He says as he seems to be walking outside in the wind.

"Hey Rafe, where are you?" You ask.

"Just walking to practice, fresh air you know?" He says smiling.

"Seems cold? Your crazy." You say laughing and propping your phone up against a napkin stand so he'll see you.

"So the website I bought your gift on says it's delivered so go outside and see if it's there" he says.

"Oooo ok! Should I wait until tomorrow to open it?" You say as you get up from the seat and start the walk to your front door.

"Just open it while I'm on the phone" he says as he starts walking faster for some reason.

"See it?" He asks as he is now standing still.

"About to open the door in 3 2 -"

You stand there in complete shock as you see your boyfriend standing on your porch with the phone in his hand.

"NO FUCKING WAY" you yell as you open the 2nd door to get outside and jump into his arms.

"Surprise" he says quietly as he holds you in his arms and rubs your back.

You guys stay like this for another 30 seconds until you pull back so your looking at him.

"I missed your face" he says with a smirk as you press your lips into his softly.

You both pull away after awhile and you smile the hardest you ever have.

"What happened to football?" You ask, still in his arms as he walks inside your house.

"Dad bribed the coach, wanted me home I guess" he says as he puts you back down on the ground.

"How long are you here?" You ask.

"January 30th" he says smiling.

"Really?? Oh my god I can't WAIT!!" You say hugging him again.

"I love you Y/N, now cmon we're going to the wreck" he says after pecking your lips.

"But I'm not dressed!" You say smiling as he drags you out the door.

"Who do you have to impress?" He asks with a smirk as you get in his car.

Best surprise ever.
