Katya woke up, a dim pink light surrounded her. She rubbed her eyes with her right hand, her left hand, and her arm trapped by Trixie who was clinging to it. Trixie had dried mascara and eyeliner all over her face, Katya pressed her lips together remembering the night before. She slowly untangled Trixie off her arm and took the bottle of wine on the floor. She entered her room, hiding the bottle in one of her drawers. Katya took off her makeup just to re-do it and go for a coffee with a cigarette, or two. Trixie woke up soon after, her head spinning. She remembered a bit of her dream and looked to her side, no one was there. She stood up and went to the bathroom, widening her eyes from how messed her makeup was. She quickly took all of it off, and left her face bare, seeing freckles coming in.
She looked around the room, the empty wine bottle, the messy bed, the pillows on the floor. A sense of embarrassment crept up Trixie's chest, she knew she had cried yesterday, but not this bad. Trixie was in the middle of organizing her mess of a room when Katya opened the door slowly, thinking Trixie was still asleep. Trixie looked into Katya's eyes, a smile was about to show when her eyes fell in embarrassment once again.
"You are awake," Katya smiled and revealed the avocado toasts in her other hand as she closed the door.
"I am, unfortunately," Trixie threw her pillows on her bed, not looking at Katya yet. "I knew I made a fool out of myself yesterday."
"Trixie you didn't, we are good," Katya said and Trixie turned around, noticing the toasts.
"Why are you doing this?" Trixie said confused.
"What do you mean?"
"I made you cry yesterday." Why would Katya be so sweet?
"We talked, Trixie."
"Wait what? That wasn't a dream?" Trixie remembered the dream where the Russian woman let her sleep while resting on her chest, where she confessed that she did in fact like her.
"No," Katya wanted to laugh, Trixie's face was priceless.
"Shit and you're seeing me like this, I look like shit." Trixie turned around to walk to the bathroom.
"I love your no-makeup face," Katya admitted, she knew Trixie was blushing even when she couldn't see it. "Come have your breakfast."
Trixie shyly walked to her desk, sitting down in front of the toasts. Katya rested her back against the wall on her right side. She bit her lips down, containing a smile. It wasn't a dream, Katya didn't hate, she didn't fuck up anything, Katya liked her. Suddenly being so vulnerable didn't feel as foolish and embarrassing as it felt before. Trixie risked and won. She took a bite of the toast and looked up at Katya. She smiled when Katya played dumb and pretended to not have been staring at her.
"You need to try it once." Trixie held the bitten toast up.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Because what if I like it?" Katya said matter of factly. "I will become like those teens in L.A."
"Shut up and open your mouth," Trixie said and laughed when she looked at Katya blushing for the first time.
"Okay, but promise me you will hold me if cry because I liked it."
"I will," Trixie rolled her eyes as Katya took a bite.
"Oh," Katya said, her mouth full. "It isn't that bad."
"See? And you didn't turn into an L.A. sixteen-year-old."
"Don't talk too soon." Katya widened her eyes and both of them laughed.

Trixie smiled while her hair flowed with the air, looking at the familiar buildings. Katya drove the car finding the buildings in vague memories that played in the back of her brain. She turned to look at Trixie, she was beaming with shining eyes and a warm smile. Katya quickly understood what was going on, nostalgia. Even at night, Katya couldn't ignore the place where the two had first met. Where she had seen those brown eyes filled with promises for the first time. Trixie stared at the bar where they meet as they got closer and closer to it, her smile getting bigger and bigger. She remembered when she was first seduced by the older woman's charm. Trixie turned to Katya, She was looking at the bar as well.
