When Madoka woke up, she knew she'd gone back in time, she wasn't sure how, but she knew.
"Madoka! Are you awake? Sayaka will be here soon!" Junko called, knocking on the door.
Sayaka? "I'm awake!" she called back.
Madoka got out of bed and checked the date on her old phone, then did a double take; it was her birthday!
"Homura!" she hissed under her breath.
Her phone beeped in her hand with a text which the pinkette quickly opened.
'Happy Birthday Madoka! :)' It read from Homura with lots of emojis of presents and balloons.
It was on purpose! Madoka thought.
She sent a quick text back saying she'd call her later and dug through her drawers for something to wear.

"Good morning mama!" Madoka greeted as she walked into the bathroom.
"Morning Madoka," Junko returned, her purple hair was slightly longer, but changes like that were to be expected. "And happy birthday." Junko kissed her on the cheek and gave her a long, flat gift.
Madoka shot her a curious look.
"I could've gotten you a fancier one," Junko began, continuing a conversation Madoka couldn't remember. "But you insisted."
Madoka blinked in confusion and tore the paper off, revealing her familiar campus book.
Ah... "Thank you mama." Madoka put the book down and hugged her mother.
"If there's anything else you want, don't hesitate to ask." Junko ordered.
"A cat?" Madoka half-joked, thinking of a certain black cat.
Junko blinked in surprise.
"Just joking," Madoka laughed.
Junko chuckled. "You're starting to sound like Sayaka."
Madoka pouted, then glanced at her hands. Speaking of cats...
"Is everything okay?" Junko asked, taking Madoka's bare hands worriedly.
"Never better." Madoka beamed.
Junko smiled back. "Now, since it's your birthday, why don't we have some fun." she suggested, pulling a familiar box out and opening it. "Sayaka won't even recognise you when I'm done."
----------
When Madoka and her mother finally went downstairs, the pinkette looked no different than she had a few hours ago, as a fourteen year old.
"Happy birthday Madoka," Tomohisa greeted.
"Good morning papa," Madoka smiled.
"Goo' mor'ng sis." Tatsuya said, he was a lot smaller, but that too was to be expected.
"Good morning Tatsuya," Madoka hugged her baby brother.
"I made your favourite for breakfast." Tomohisa said, placing a bowl by her usual seat.
"Thank you papa." Madoka beamed.
Just as she sat down, the door bell rang.
"That must be Sayaka," Junko stood to go let her in.
Madoka began shoveling food in her mouth, excited to see the bluenette again.
"You know Sayaka will wait." her father pointed out.
