ERIC'S POV:

I saw him from a distance talking to someone as I kept advancing in his direction. His eyes shot up to met mine and he quickly dismissed the person he was talking to and walked in my direction, trying to maintain his posture. I guess it's time we have a talk about why am I not getting any updates.

"You seem busy" I spat with venom laced in my tone.

"No no sir" he said in trembling voice. I sneered at that.

"I don't have time for you, so tell me the reason why am I not getting any updates on her?" I asked looking at his face, which went pale.

"There was nothing to be updated sir, everything is normal. She just follows her everyday routine". He put out his words firmly like he has been practicing these. I smirked at that, something is going on here.

"I will ask again, Why??" I gritted out.

"I.. I..."he started stammering.

"Do you want to lose this job, and never get a job again??? What was that?? Someone in your family is sick?? Oh how sad how are you going to pay for the treatment". I asked feiging a heartbroken expression. His face showed pure horror exactly the reaction I wanted to see. I waited for him to start because I knew he will, and he finally did.

"It just doesn't feel right to invade someone's privacy sir" he lowered his head even more and continued "it feels immoral to do so and she is just a sweet girl, it felt like I was betraying her trust" now he looked at me with me tears filled eyes like hoping I would help his out of this dilemma.

My blood boiled at that "You two faced snake, you were doing it well for sometime, for the extra money you got out of it. Now suddenly it doesn't feel right hn??". He didn't say anything to that and just gulped keeping his eyes on his shoes.

I was getting impatient now "tell me the reason, what changed your mind?". I asked narrowing the distance between us.

He started fumbling with his hands, hesitating, which confirmed my suspicions that he is hiding something. I had to clench my fists from doing something I will regret. He is almost the age of my father, I would not raise my hands at him considering he didn't do something which will lend him in that situation. But I had to get my answers.

"You really don't want this job huh?"

He shook his head and after a small pause he said something.

"I.. I think she is in love with someone else"

I felt like cold water was splashed on me. I stood there stunned. I just had to confirm what he said.

"What did you say?"

"I think she is in love with someone else". He repeated.

I scoffed at that "There is no way she is in love with someone else if she was I would have known and dealt with it already".

"But I saw..." He hesitated again.

"What ? What did you see?" I asked, my heart was pounding with fear of this being true but I had confidence I would have known if that was the case. So I kept myself calm.

"In the elevator..." then he told me about the elevator incident and my blood ran cold. No this can't be happening. Not her best friend's brother. What the fuck man. I didn't knew Grace had a brother.

I closed my eyes and took deep breaths to calm myself down. I need to think rationally, there is no way there is something between them. But that does not mean they can fucking flirt which each other. My temper started rising now.
I looked back at that security guard "do your work properly, otherwise there are many willing to do it in your place". I left after that. Where I was going I had no idea.
