'It's a small world after all'.
The phrase never seemed to be so real until now that I am actually experiencing it. People have an exceptional way of entering your lives. When I had finally given up that chapter in my life, it had barged in unknowingly. It's almost as if I don't know what to make of it. The abnormality of the situation gnawing into me in the most unlikeliest way.
I couldn't comprehend what to think. Shock, denial and confusion being the strongest of all, clouding my mind like a thick mist of fog that made everything seem blurry. A pat on my shoulder brought me back from my racing thoughts.
"It says exactly in there" Nathan points at the jeep. I don't reply instantly. I take a closer look at it. Inspite of all the doubts running through my brain, there was one thing I was sure about.
This was it. I vaguely remember the time when I was being taken away in it. But there was something in my mind confirming that all this was real, it's happening, she's here.
"I know" I say with a pause turning back to see a look of confusion written all over their faces.
"Scarlett took me back to Dave's in this, must've fallen when I was unconscious. And since she wasn't smart enough to notice it. Now we know where she is" I declare with a smirk looking up at the only window that illuminated light in the old worn out two story building. When they follow my line of vision, their features become morphed into something serious as their whole body tenses in alert.
"So what do we do now?" Ash looks at me questionably while Nathan's eyes never leave the window.
From what I've encountered Scarlett is a very irrational person. We can't just go knock in there demanding answers, expecting her to comply. She'll probably close the damn door on our fucking faces before we had the chance to say a word. It's definitely out of the option since she feeds on the title of the most unwelcoming person. We'll have to take her by surprise.
"I say we climb the window and get in" just as the words leave my mouth I see Ash practically bouncing with excitement.
"Like in the James Bond movie. I've always wanted to try that. It'll be so cool. A gun or something would've made it so much more thrilling. Anyway I'll go first and then you guys follow. You know the drill right? I just can't wait to... " the other words came out muffled as I press my hand firmly against his mouth to stop his rambling. I give him a pointed look and he stops yelling.
Ash has always enjoyed adventures like this which involved using muscular strength. Practically anything that involved a James Bond scene, the guy's a sucker for action movies. I turn my head back to look at Nathan for approval only to find him gone.
Running a hand over my hair frustratingly, I look around for him, the dimly lit street weren't of much help to figure out his disappearance. Where the hell did he go? Did he just chicken out? No, he isn't that type. Ash too looks equally confused. Minutes pass by when we see a figure approaching, I release a breath when we confirm its Nathan.
