"Tex, you have a surprise visitor at the door. Said she was looking for you in particular." Bel waved to her. Tex soon hopped off a ledge and wiped her dirty hands across her jeans. She met up with Bel and opened the door. Lucy stood before them while rubbing down her arm.
"Howdy, Lucy. What brings ya to our base at this time?" Tex asked. "You didn't run into any trouble didja?" She flashed a sly grin.
Lucy shook her head and raised a fist.
"No not this time, partner. I came here to join you on a bounty quest and see if it'll help any with my problems." Tex held a hand to her hat and adjusted it. She shifted back to the room and checked the clock."Welp, I'm not in any rush to call it a day just yet. I'll let Den know that we'll go out for a hunt." Tex dug into her vest and fished out a phone. "So what kind of problems are you dealing with, Lucy?"
"Uh, just feeling worried that all I care about is fighting. Like that's my only purpose in life..." Lucy exhaled. "Tried to train with Yori, date Talai, and go to college with Cheyanne. But nothing seems to click."
Bel held a finger to her chin.
"Hmm, sounds like you really want to find a purpose. It's a good thing you know so many people, huh?" Lucy nodded with her arms crossed. Tex soon shoved her phone back and motioned the two to follow."Den and the boys are out on their hunt so it'll just be us girls. Bel, go fetch Est and get the equipment." She checked both pistols on the holsters. Her boots stomped against the hard floor as she headed toward a van. "Lucy, I don't want this to be an easy task for ya. So mind not using any supernatural powers?"
"Of course! The more challenge there is the better!" Lucy exclaimed. Her wings fluttered with excitement and her muscles tensed up. Bel along with Est joined them with various weapons. They carried a bow, arrows, chains, and a shotgun into the van. The two took the back seats with Tex in the driver's seat. She cranked the engine as Lucy seated herself beside her.
"Alright, girls. We got word from some clients that the drug cartel has been rooting itself in a nearby town. Antonio Jeiso is the name we've also heard as the ring leader." Tex sped down the highway. "I doubt they'll be any supernaturals part of the gang but Lucy being here makes that potential problem easy." She continued with a smirk.
Est leaned onto the back of her seat.
"Okay, I think this will be a cakewalk if we're just busting some drug lords. Are you pumped for some action, Lucy?" She asked with a smile.Lucy stared back at her with a warm smile.
"Yep! This sounds interesting already so I'm ready for anything!" She noticed Tex drove through a bridge when a bustling city greeted them. Cars filled every lane and skyscrapers lined up for several yards. They patrolled the nearby blocks before the van halted in front of a warehouse."Heard this was a good spot where shady dealings going on. Let's scout it out but keep our profile low." Tex cut the engines and stepped out. Est and Bel exited next and gathered the weapons. Lucy stared up at the warehouse as she stretched out her legs.
"Bel and I will secure the perimeters in case of any watchmen." Est said as she held a pair of chains. "Good luck inside."
Tex nodded to them and loaded her shotgun.
"Alright, let's move out y'all." She sneaked toward the entrance with Lucy close behind. After a glance inside a window, she pushed the door open. A loud creak emitted from it as they rushed in. Tex kept her gun steady while checking the room. Her eyes spotted two narrow hallways, a set of stairs, and two floors above them."I don't sense any supernatural presence here." Lucy whispered. "But you really think people would show up to a dump like this?" She asked.
"It's only rumors at this point but we'll soon find out." Tex leaned on a corner and checked a hallway. "Nothing down there besides a worn-out vendor." She shifted to the other hallway. "And this one leads to another door, let's go upstairs." Her boots squeaked against the wooden steps when she reached the second floor. Two doors stood on her left with one on her right. Echoes of loud whispers emitted from the furthest door on the left. They crept toward it as a male voice grew visible.
