Title: Good Luck
You logged out of ALO for the time being.
It was hard to believe, but you were getting tired of the game. It was an impressive feat to make a video game that anyone can genuinely be a part of, but it felt different from the original SAO game that kept people trapped within its system. Within its immersive world that forced every player to do their best to survive.
You didn't have an extreme desire to go back to a hellish nightmare like that, and maybe it was your exhaustion talking, but you wanted to feel something exciting again. Perhaps something that preferably isn't a life-or-death situation.
You didn't understand your own feelings all that well.
Setting your amusphere on the desk in front of your bed, you stood up and walked to the bathroom. Even after splashing your face with cold water, you felt tired. There was this weird little something that was dragging you down, yet you didn't know what it was.
Maybe you needed to go outside.
So you did.
You left your house and walked around. Walked all the way to the nearby park, and sat down at a bench. The sun was covered by clouds, so when you looked up you weren't blinded by anything.
You just sat there and waited for something to happen.
This was probably the most extreme case of boredom you've ever felt, and on a Saturday, which was even worse. You used to enjoy the weekends—once upon a time anyways.
Given that you were at least feeling the fresh afternoon breeze, you pulled out your phone and decided to see if you could share this weird and bothersome feeling with someone else. Or at least try to see if you could get rid of it temporarily.
You scrolled through your contacts, and while there weren't many, they were still all people you cared about. Parents, a brother, and a couple of friends.
With some of these friends experiencing the same dread you did when you all got trapped in SAO all of those years ago.
But... how about calling someone that didn't go through all of that? Maybe she wouldn't be as miserable as you are.
You tapped on Suguha Kirigaya's name, a girl you haven't spoken to recently, but who you were fairly good friends with. Maybe this was all an excuse to see her again, maybe that something dragging you down was a voice hidden within you—yelling at you so you'd talk to her.
Or it could be something else entirely. Again, you weren't sure.
You finally tapped on the 'Call' button and raised the phone to your ear.
It took a couple of rings, but after the third one you heard a quick, "Hello?"
"Oh, hey Suguha. I was wondering if you..." You stopped, for some reason now thinking about what you were going to say. You felt dumb.
"Uh, Y/N, are you alright?"
"Ah yeah, I just... I was wondering if you wanted to hang out. We don't really do that much, so I'm just calling t-to ask."
"Oh well I was just—" Sugu stopped for a brief second as well, said something you couldn't hear very well, and then spoke again, "yeah, yeah I would love to."
Her voice sounded very cheerful on the other side. You wondered what she was thinking about. "Oh, that's great! I'll text you the address of the place and I'll see you there." You failed to mention you were already at the place, but it didn't really matter.
