"Your family is in much pain, would you like to see?" Asked one of the women.
"No," I replied.
"I think I know what we should do with her," Another woman said. She then leaned closer to the man and whispered in his ear. He looked at me. He had a blank look on his face, He just stared at me, no words or anything. After what felt like forever of silence he finally said something.
"Aura," he said, "I have decided what will be done with you. I am not going to banish you, but if I see you here again without it being your time to go, you will be banished. That is a promise."
I was almost too stunned to speak but I wanted to know what was going to happen.
"What's going to happen to me?" I asked.
"We are going to have you reincarnated. You are going to be reincarnated as a girl, but we are going to skip a few years. We're going to make you 14. You do not have any say in this," He said firmly.
"Okay," I muttered.
They then asked me to step into a circleish shaped light, I did. All I could remember in the past was when I woke up. I woke up but I was no longer me, this was not my body. I guess this was the body that I was assigned to? I got up to go and look in the mirror. I was white, I had brown hair and tealish green eyes. They were pretty.
My room was nice, it was a bigger room. It had a queen size mattress and beside my bed was a big fluffy white rug. There were plants in the window and a TV in the wall. To the left of my room there was a closet, eside the closet was a bathroom. "How could this possibly be a punishment? This is amazing," I said.
I left my room and started to walk downstairs, I started to explore the house. It was really big. I liked it. I walked into the living room. There was a big gray couch and in front of the couch was a tv. On the couch there was a man and a woman, beside them was a boy. He looked around 16 or 17. I assumed that was my brother. They all started to look at me oddly as I walked into the room.
"You slept late," the older man said.
"Yes, I did," I replied bluntly. I turned around and started to walk back up to my room.
"Where are you going?" The older man had asked.
"Oh, I was going to go back up to my room. Why?" I questioned.
"Do you not want to play with us? You always play with us," He said while pulling out a board game.
"Oh! Yeah! Yeah I will, sorry. I had forgotten," I quickly made up that excuse in my head. I had no idea how this family works. I was going to have an interesting time.
"Alright great, go as your sister if she wants to play too,"
"Okay, I will," Then I started to walk around the house frantically trying to find my sister's room.
After mildly freaking out I had found it. I opened the door to see a girl sitting on the bed. She looked older than me. I guess I was the youngest in the family. She had blonde hair and green eyes. She was wearing a band t-shirt and blue jeans. She was sitting on a bed reading a book.
"Would you like to play a game with us?" I asked her.
"Sure, tell them I'll be out in a second," she replied. With that I walked back into the living room and told everyone. I went and sat down around the board game as it was being set up. It was a monopoly game. I had always kinda liked those games.
We played for a little, it was fun. I thought this would be nice, there's no way this could possibly be my punishment right? It was too good. They had to be planning something else I swore they were. I decided it would be a good idea to keep my guard up. I just had a feeling.
Within a few days I learned alot about the person that I had become and alot about the family I was now in. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but I was tired of putting up a front. At times I didn't know how to act, I don't know who this person is. I barely knew who this family was. All I knew was that I was trying my hardest, nobody was supposed to know about any of this except me.
I was sitting in my room, on my phone. I heard someone's footsteps. I could hear them walking up to my room. They opened the door and it was my father.
"Honey," he said gently, "Me and your mother have been talking. We think there's something wrong with you. You haven't been acting the same lately, we think it would be best if you were to get a therapist. We're thinking you might have something seriously wrong, like bipolar disorder or something."
"Oh uhm alright, That's fine," I replied.
"Great, we have your appointment set up for Monday, does that work for you?" He had asked.
"Yes, that is fine," I said.
I guess a therapist couldn't be that bad right? I didn't think it could. Maybe it can give me an excuse to act like myself. If I'm able to get diagnosed with something like bpd or bipolar that would be great. This was a very good opportunity for me.
Soon enough Monday came, it was time. I woke up and got ready to go to the therapist's office. My family drove me there and left me there. I was sitting in the waiting room, then I heard my name get called.
