cold stone

My body felt cold.
My eyes had felt like they had been frozen shut i could only open them ever so slightly.

"Karl" i murmured out, but it had only turned into a weak mumble. I felt a hand lightly placed on my head."your ok darlin", someone had spoken out to me.
"Karl?"
it had sound like him and i could tell it was his touch.
"Cold" all that i could mumble out, it had been like my voice dissapeared and left only the vibration."lynns worried sick bout ya" karl spoke out. "Mama" lynns shakey voice spoke out. I could tell she was about to sob."brook-" i tried to call out to her but it was a failed attempt, her warm little arms hugged my arm. She was shaking."lynn ya cant go huggin without your coat" karl said."but daddy" lynn. "Dont you 'but daddy' me" karl said.
I opened my eyes slowly, i was laid on a cold stone floor

Lynn and karl weren't there it had almost felt like the.

Orphanage...

I slowy looked down only to see me in a child-like frail body, legs covered in bruises and stained with thin sheets of dried blood.

"Karl"

I look back up my neck pops.
I blink my eyes
But i was still here

The door opens

"Y/n please follow me"
A lady in a lab coat had said to me
I stood up, shakey i kept myself balanced by the wall

'Is this my childhood?'

'If i remember her, theres a name tag on the back of the lab coats'
I look up
[Kendal McCain]

'Kendal, i can only remember short clips of her, assigned to watch after me, even in this hellhole there was only three people i could like out of the fifty-nine scientists or 'caretakers'

"Y/n sit and talk with me"

And i did exactly what she said
It was the moments like this i had felt at ease

"Tell me, would you like to go a place called romainia?"

She said with a smile on her face

I nod my head weakly

"I can warn you there will be snow everywhere, its cold this time of year there, we'll be visiting a small village" she looked at a peice of paper laid on the table

"Why?"
I whispered out

"Y/n come over here"
She rotates herself to the side of the chair i ambled over to, she feels my skin,"should have guessed they didnt warm up that room your skins ice cold" she said wrapping me in her lab coat, it radiated heat from the cloth, it also smelled like her a bold mellow sent of clothing liner, it smelt much like brooklynn,

"How about i get you cleaned up and you can sleep in here tonight, no more experiments"

This was the brightest memory of my childhood, i felt tears pour down my face, i couldnt help it,
I felt joyest
I hugged her

Even though im reliving my childhood i couldn't help but feel this joy again

But what would it be after this?
I cant remember anything after i will fall asleep on the couch

"Im sorry i seem to have made you sad" she said, i shook my head,
I smiled up at her
She smiles back

"I have to go for a bit theres a shower next door use that ok?"
She said before leaving and slowly shutting the door behind her, i sat on the couch all, all i could think about was karl and lynn.

I fall asleep on the couch

"Mama" a voice lucidly called to me

"Lynn? What are you doin in here"
"Mama!" Her voice was shakey and quivering
"Come on kiddo mamas ok, shes just tired" karl spoke i could tell it was him
"mama" lynn mumbled in a hopeless tone, she began crying. Tears dropping down on my arm."shh~ why dont you go play in your room kiddo" he said as what sounded like shoes hitting the floor and a door shut.
"Y/n please hurry" his voice quivered and cracked, i felt my body being lifted and hugged tightly.
"karl" i whispered faintly
He set me down on the bed and set his hand on my stoumch."10 more weeks until the new childs born so find what your lookin for and fast" he said, i could tell he was crying. "did" i weakly mumbled before i regain consciousness in my childs body but before waking up karl had said
"Hurry dear"

"Y/n wake up sleepyhead"
I open my eyes to see hazel
"I got you showered and dressed to go with Kendal"
Just tyen kendal bursts through the door in a rush."so sorry i overslept" she nervously laughed she looked at me in awe."you look adorable!" I give her a smile.
I put on the lab coat before we leave the room. Kendal rips the name tag off
"I can just reattach this since its velco"
We walk outside
It was cold
Somthing icey fell from the sky kendal wrapped a scarf around me. I breathed out into the sharp cold air, i could see my breath
"Come now lets get going you two"
Their was another kid beside me
His name was ashton
I had only seen him a few times throughout my stay here
We got along greatly
Thinking about it he looks alot like karl
I shook it to the back of my mind
We step in the van, i yawn falling asleep on ashtons shoulder, he pats my head.

I hear nobody
Not brooklynn
Not karl
Not alinca or her daughters
Not even the doll

Just silence before i hear a baby cry. Some body opens the door as the crying gets louder then settles as its laid on my chest."have you found it yet?" Karl says. "I had this weird dream. I was with a girl in a van, we were younger about 9 years old, she looked alot like you only her hair was long and her eyes were dull, she had a scarf and gloves on, a braided patterned brown skirt, and sweater the same pattern" karl said running his fingers through his hair."i wonder if she could be you, she reminds me how pretty your eyes are how silky you hair is to brush through also you had a child two weeks ago, i refuse to name him without you, i love you hurry back home" karl says as he picks the child up from my chest and shuts the door.
