It had felt like a long and grueling task. The Gym Challenge fell flat to Y/N for many reasons. The people that supported her journey noticed her lack of motivation for the whole thing. After conquering Raihan's Gym, she found herself feeling that was all she had desired to do. Being the champion didn't sound like an appetizing endeavor to her, but she supported Marnie, Victor, Hop, and Gloria. They all had worked very hard to get this far, and she was very vocal about how she was happy for them.

The simple pleasantries of having her friends around to chat was something she missed now. She sat outside of Wyndon Stadium. If she had gone in, they would've ushered her into the competition, so she thought it was best to just wait for it to end and hear what everyone had to say. Sitting lazily on one of the benches, she played with her partner Pokemon, waving around a feather on a string. Every now and then young kids would walk up and compliment her Pokemon, and she'd offer them a 'thanks' followed by a kind smile. Aside from that, things were pretty quiet and boring.

Just when she felt things were getting too dull to tolerate any longer, a large booming noise sounded from the stadium. A large red laser beamed up to the high heavens. The girl jolted up, looking fearfully at the sight. What possibly could've happened? Seconds later she heard fast footsteps bound out of the stadium. She looked back quickly; Gloria and Victor followed by their purple-haired pal ran out.

"Y/N!" Gloria called out. "You won't believe it mate! Bede was in there!" The brunette ran up to her, ready to spill the beans.

"R-really?" The girl stood up almost instinctively.

"He left now but," Gloria started, "he was in a Fairy Gym uniform and was planning to quit being a Pokemon Trainer! B-but don't worry your head lil' miss! He decided against it when everyone in the crowd told him to keep going with it." She smiled.

Victor and Hop caught up, "he was still in there, what're you on about? Don't listen to her, Y/N. He was talking with Opal and other Gym Leaders. But," Victor sighed.

"The Championship battle is being held off till tomorrow." Hop jumped in.

"I-I'm concerned about that uh. . laser." Y/N pointed nervously.

"The Darkest Day. . It's happening again. Rose is doing this because Leon 'refused to listen'. Leon ran off to take care of it." Victor spoke up grimly.

"Wh-what?? What can I do to help? Is Bede okay?" Y/N asked urgently, Gloria offering a small laugh.

"Let us handle this. You don't need to be wrapped up in this disaster. Bede is fine. We're heading to the Slumbering Weald. We think the Legendary Pokemon will help fix this." Gloria replied a little coldy.

Y/N was about to protest, but the three ran ahead, Hop calling a Flying Taxi to Postwick.

She slouched down, falling to sit on the bench again. The Darkest Day. . Sonia's ramblings told her more than enough to know that event would devastate and ruin everything Galar had. "That man. . such a poor excuse for an intellectual." Y/N sighed. "First everything that happened with Bede, and now this."

"I know, he's quite a piece of work."

Y/N gasped, perking up instantly and looking around. "Huh? B-Bede?"

The male laughed, ambling over to take a seat beside her. "The world is ending and it's all thanks to my ex-adoptive father. You really can't trust a lot of people." He mused.

The girl was stunned into silence. This seemed rather forward for Bede. Sitting next to her uninvited and striking a chat.

The fairy-clad boy giggled again. "Trust me, I didn't think I'd be talking to you right now, either. Opal is drinking tea with Allister and Bea, so I thought I'd step out and get some fresh air."
