The beaming dawn arose, light finding its way through the window's curtains. Early morning always felt so pleasant. He often wished he always felt like this. With a fresh start, no chances of messing up, and warm. The boy slowly sat up, the fluffy blanket rolling off his body. He rubbed his eyes and yawned loudly. Today was the day he would make substantial progress. Rose would be proud of him for certain.
He hopped out of bed with an added pep to his step, getting his clothes on quickly. He slipped his shoes on and brought out his Rotom phone. With a swift text, Oleana had responded. For the plan he needed Rose's Copperajah, and luckily enough, Rose actually agreed. This showed he had some faith and it gave Bede a sharp boost of optimism. He would find any and all Wishing Stars present behind that wall of rock.
The boy had washed his face before stepping foot out of the inn. Oleana arrived quickly; retaining her punctual attitude. The caramel blonde eyed the young boy with her usual blank stare, promptly handing him a Poke Ball once he was close enough. "Rose told me to lend it over quickly. Take good care of them. I have to return to him now. I trust you'll be wise and do as I had said." She sounded so cold and lifeless. She stepped back into the Flying Taxi as soon as she had gotten out of it. Bede watched as the Corviknight lifted into the air, Oleana texting on her phone as she was flown away. The boy shifted his sights down to the Ultra Ball he held. His grip tightened and he grinned. His plan found its humble beginnings and now all that was left was to make his move.
The journey to Stow-on-Side wasn't necessarily a fun one for the boy. He weaved between roaming Yamasks and squinted at the raging sunlight beaming down on him as he climbed up the ladders. It wasn't that he was against physical activity- rather he wasn't in the mood for it. Granted, times have been lacking recently and he wasn't in the mood for most things. That aside, he bested the unsavory landscape, landing in the roadside marketplace that stood at Stow-on-Side's entrance.
He paced forward, looking at the Ghost Gym. A quick glance delivered an upsetting result: Hop, Gloria, and Victor had exited the gym, with Y/N chatting on her way in. Those cretins would surely mock his very presence. With gritted teeth, he ran on, quickly up the stairs to a—while historically significant—hideous mural. He looked over the railing cautiously, his magenta-blur of an escape attempt failing horribly. Gloria noticed and laughed loudly, the two boys with her lost on what was funny.
"You thought I'd miss ya, yeah?" She giggled. Hop and Victor looked confused, Gloria ushering them forward with her. Once they saw the Psychic trainer atop the staircase, they all chuckled seemingly in unison. "This lil shite here thought a quick sprint wouldn't catch my eye! Quite funny, mate." She smiled.
"You looking at that ugly mug?" Hop raised an eyebrow.
"It's a part of history," Victor reasoned, Gloria and Hop turning to him with a laugh. "I've seen nicer macaroni art, mate. If our ancestors wanted to leave behind something nice, at least make it look good." The girl chortled.
Bede scowled down at the three. He was going to reply in his usual antagonistic way, but thought silence would make them leave faster.
"See ya around Bede! Who knows, maybe you'll win next time." Gloria waved goodbye, scurrying off with the lot.
It was nice to see that for once his intuition was correct. Cold silence served quickly made for one less annoying customer—or 3 customers in this case.
He sighed, peace washing over him. With them out of the way, he reached into one of his bags and pulled out the Ultra Ball. He raised his head to look at the painted wall. The saturation of the colors was so high it was hurting his eyes the more he stared at it.
"I'll be doing them a favor more than anything. I don't believe this artist understood color theory. Or maybe they lost their retinas long before this incident," the platinum blonde mumbled half jokingly. He smiled as he sent out the Copperajah, commanding it to bash the mural.
