Now, as the queen, I had to pick a place to settle temporarily. I thought about planets that were uninhabited, but as I was looking into them, I found why they were uninhabited. Either there was little or no water, no atmosphere, no gravity, or storms that could easily wipe out an entire civilization would convince me out of settling there.
Comet gave me a 'what a stupid, immature, weak little baster. How could she be Queen of my people' kind of look. I rolled my eyes. I knew what I was doing...I think.
After an hour of scearching through files and files of planets, I came across one little solar system that already was sustaining life. Well, at least one planet was.
I clicked the file.
"The Milky Way Galaxy, in side we have a solar system with 13 planets. All these planets were once inhabited but billions and billions of years ago, The Ellg came to the solar system and erased life on them all, expect one. Earth is currently the only planet in the solar system to sustain life. Why life was not destroyed on Earth like all the rest, is unknown."
I thought for a moment, and I looked at the screen. Earth, It looked so beautiful. Almost as beautiful as Bavel. In someones eyes who has neither seen Earth or Bavel, they would probably say that Earth was more pretty. But, on Bavel, if they look up at the night sky, they may change their mind. Everyday is like a show, and each day it's different. The stars that shine have billions and billions of stories to tell. Like the hawk and the snake story, or the beetle and the shoe.
I looked at Earth stories that they told in the sky. I looked at one, the little and big dipper. My Dad, even though he has ever been to Earth, study stars around that solar system. He liked the Little Dipper. When my little brother was born, he ran outside and looked up in the sky. Even though it was impossible but he told me that he saw the little dipper. I thought he was just imaging, but he called said that he saw it and it was a miracle. And, as it is our people's tradition to name your child after what you see in the stars, he named my brother, Dipper.
I looked back at Earth, and I thought. If the Ellg entire their solar system billions and billions of years ago, how could Earth still sustain life? The Ellg takes everything in it's path and, consumes it. A blinding light shines down from its ship and everything living materializes. Gone, in less than a second.
If Earth somehow avoided the Ellg one time, could it have a way? Does it know how the Ellg work and how they can escape from their clutches? If they knew how, they could save us. They could save all of the Bavians, and perhaps more!
Without asking my supervisor for permission, I set our escape pods to Earth.
