As Shinji and Asuka entered the classroom, the older teacher began questioning and scolding them simultaneously about yet again being late, which placed Ikari in the worst position imaginable as he knew Asuka was prepared to put all the blame on him and although it was mainly his fault- he would have been much happier if she just left him to sleep through the day!

" Well idio- I mean Shinji, decided to miss his alarm AGAIN, making me late as I walk with him- so really he should be the one to have to clean-up after school this week!" Langley complained whilst trying to seem entirely innocent.

"Well, Shinji do you have anything to say? I do need someone to clean-up.."  Sensei frowned, looking over at Ikari.

He shook his head, already prepared for the inevitable whilst Asuka pulled faces at him, atleast that meant he could talk to Miss Misato after classes.

Although old, the teacher spotted Asuka and snapped at the both of them. " Both of you cleanup after school! Everyday you're late it's another week of cleanup, so I recommend you go and sit down." Shinji rolled his eyes slightly, knowing it was a Friday so the elderly man would have forgotten by the time the weekend passed.

The pair sulked whilst walking towards their seats and getting the necessary equipment out for the day, but something wasn't right, for Shinji atleast.

" My bag-!" He harshly whispered under his breath, if being late didn't annoy the teacher enough he was sure forgetting all his supplies would! As he began panicking, mainly because that also meant that all his music was also at home, he felt a light tap on his shoulder from behind him, causing him to turn his head around.

" Here, I noticed you had forgotten your bag as soon as you walked in and got the basic stationary out for you." The crimson eyed boy whispered whilst keeping strong eye contact with Shinji, making him feel slightly awkward.

" O-oh, thank you Nagisa-kun, I'll be sure to give it back to you." Shinji lightly took the equipment out of the taller boys hand, unaware that anyone would pay that much attention to him, never mind care that he had forgotten his bag. As he looked at Kaworu's light smile he felt his cheeks heat slightly, causing him to immediately turn back around with a flustered expression. He didn't quite understand what has caused this abnormal reaction, if it was Tohji lending him a few pens and pencils he wouldnt be bothered, but he felt entirely different with the albino boy for whatever reason.

As the class came to an end and lunch time approached, Shinji turned around to pass the stationary back to Nagisa, but found he had already left. Had he forgotten? They had PE/GYM next so it wasn't as if he would need anything as he already had his clothing in a locker. Ikari put the pens and pencils in his pocket and began walking around the campus alone to find Kaworu, he would ask Asuka to accompany him so he didn't feel as awkward when walking pass groups, but after this morning's comment about Nagisa-kun he was certain she would just tease him. It's not as if Rei was there to help him either, on the days she did come into school it was as if she vanished whenever social time started, and on this particular Monday she hadn't even shown up, I suppose she wasn't getting her new ID today.

As he traced the labyrinth of corridors he heard a faint echo of piano, at first he assumed it was coming from a pre-recorded track as it was so perfectly played, however when he heard them stop to change to another song he was certain this was instead one incredibly talented player. As if he was being hypnotised, Shinji entirely forgot what or who he was looking for, instead heading to the singular music room with the grand piano to find out just who this excellent pianist was exactly. As he got closer he remembered the name of the piece, ode to joy, it was an complicated song to even hum, never mind solo on piano. Shinji eventually got the courage to look around the doorframe and discover who this anonymous player was, but it seemed he had already been spotted. The piano came to a quick pause and the silver-haired boy stood up and glanced towards Shinji.

" Shinji-kun? I apologise if you came to play here, I was unaware if there were specific owners of this piano." He gave the shorter male an apologetic smile.

" Oh-no, actually I was just here to find out who was playing-It was really good.!" Shinji stumbled over his words slightly, he wanted to give Kaworu far more praise but didn't want to seem like some obsessed fan.

" Do you think so? I'm sure it would sound far better with someone like you playing." Nagisa responded.

" I'm really terrible compared to you, I'm sure you would be far better without my assistance!" Shinji insisted.

" Oh, we'll don't feel pressured to, but i'm sure you're amazing Shinji-kun! I'd love to do a duet with you." Although this was there first time talking, other than the short exchange in class, it felt as if they had known eachother for years.

Shinji gulped, sitting down next to Kaworu in the space he had made for Ikari, and positioning his shaky hands on the keys.

" You're almost there but.." Kaworu lifted his slender hands and placed them onto Shinji's, softly positioning his hands on the correct keys.

Shinji felt his heart race, however he was entirely unaware why because of his touch starved nature, he just knew that he enjoyed Kaworu's touch, his voice and how delicate he was when talking to him. But what he knew most of all is that he was unable to form a sentence when so close to him.

And so they began, playing throughout the rest of lunch. Although neither of them ate that lunchtime, and Shinji had completely forgotten to give Nagisa his stationary back, he felt more than fulfilled with how he spent his time.
