I called the number but no one picked up. I knew it was his recent number because the reading was just yesterday. I decided to leave a voicemail. "Hi, it's Y/n. I didn't get a chance to speak with you after the reading. But I just wanted to say it was really good." I smiled. His music was amazing.
He reminded me of my brother; always making songs about anything he could find. "My brother was my passion to music and broadway. And you sounded just like him."
"If you don't have any plans I would love to speak with you over coffee at that old place on the corner." I think for a good minute trying to figure out when I could be free. "11:30 maybe. I thin— no I know you have some potential." Then hung up the phone.
Next day — At the coffee place
11:54. It had been 20 minutes I was waiting. I sigh. Then someone comes into the dinner. His eyes look left then right to see me. He walks over and slides into the both. "I'm so sorry. I—" he goes to explain but I wave him off. "It's fine. I don't have anywhere to go until 2," I said with a grin. He smiles. "Okay. Now about what you said on the phone," he said. I nod. "I knew what I said and it's true." He sat up in his seat with a hopeful smile. "So tell me what your working on now," I said and took a sip of coffee. He starts.
